I absolutely loved being back in the lives of people from Whistle Stop!

I had a hard time putting this down even when family came to visit for the weekend. Folksy but at the same time real, we read of the peak of a small town and it‘s downfall, right up to it‘s resurrection. You will enjoy meeting it‘s inhabitants.

Had to DNF at 46%. I LOVED Fried Green Tomatoes…. But this had none of the underlying tension and was just far too sweet and nostalgic. It will have its readers, but I‘m just not one of them.

I absolutely loved this book! I read Fried Green Tomatoes when I was still a teen, and I remember liking the movie a lot more, but I suspect I just too young to appreciate the book and it's setting. I really enjoy Flagg's depiction of small towns and the magic she brings to life. I recently read A Red Bird Christmas, which I also loved.

Currently reading for f2f book club.

You guys, I didn‘t want this to end!! With the #audiobook of Fried Green Tomatoes fresh in my mind, I decided to grab the audiobook for the sequel. If possible, I think I loved this one even more! If you‘re feeling down at all, this will leave you feeling all giddy and warm and fuzzy inside. I love these characters! It‘s a perfect sequel. I hope they‘re making a movie! 5⭐️ Highly recommended!

What a deliciously satisfying sequel! Revisiting all the edgy & endearing characters from Fried Green Tomatoes made my heart sing.Purchased my signed copy to support Fannie‘s favorite charity:Free2Teach. “I was lucky enough to have had several wonderful teachers in my life who encouraged me even though I am dyslexic to keep trying and keep fighting," says Flagg. "If I hadn't had these teachers, I don't know if I would have ever started to write."

Though this one doesn‘t have the depth of Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe, it was still a treat to return to the characters. I‘ve always loved Idgie & we to see how Evelyn Couch is doing. Ruth‘s son Buddy is the main focus, but we dip in & out of his life through the decades & get glimpses of all of the people he crossed paths with. Things come together in the 2nd half. The first half is disjointed, but the ending made it worth it.

Enjoyable follow-up to Fried Green Tomatoes. 💚 Reading this book was like sitting down to visit with old friends you haven't seen in years.

Any book that gives me more Idgie is a pick. 😀

I talked myself out of waiting for the paperback, and I do not regret it one iota. Is it more than a bit fluffy? Yep. Does everything tie up all too neatly? Yep. Did it make my heart all warm and fuzzy and nostalgic. Yep. So much fun! Towanda!

Just finished this last night. I adore Fannie Flagg‘s books. It was very fun to revisit Whistle Stop so many years later. Also I just found out the Whistle Stop Cafe exists in Georgia and now I really want to go. :)

I ❤ this! A perfect follow up to Fried Green Tomatoes. I'm so glad that Fannie Flagg decided to give us a bit more on these characters including the town of Whistle Stop.

This was exactly the comfy read I needed this Christmas season. It made me think of my mother. She wasn‘t an avid reader but she did give me a love of southern female writers.

Delightful! In the beginning, I wished that I had read the first book more recently; but, Flagg did a fine job of reminding me of the original characters and story. Flagg narrates the book wonderfully.

While this book wasn‘t quite as good as Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe, it was still good and was a quick read — I started and finished it today. It was perfect for me right now as it felt like visiting old friends; I‘ve had a bad last couple of days where I needed friends. I also read the very short Thanksgiving Memory; Capote‘s writing is lovely and the story sweet with a lesson attached. #FeastMode

I only experienced Fried Green Tomatoes at Whistle Stop Cafe for the first time this year. While I didn't have several decades to wait for this book it was still deeping satisfying to return to these storylines. Dot quickly catches readers up on who married who, moved where... with the Weems weekly until the town is disbanded and still her annual Christmas card connects the town and its people. It was simply delightful to have it all wrapped up.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This book has the same feel of Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe. We get to catch up with a lot of our friends from the first book...Bud, Idgie, Dot Weems and many more. It is such a feel good book that you cannot put down!!!
