Took myself to Leeds for the day mostly to visit this new little, women led independent bookshop. They do coffee too 😁 will definitely be popping in again when I‘m next in Leeds.

My ideal bookshop would be quiet. I would organize it in the same way that a library would organize their collections, with more of an emphasis on historical fiction and nonfiction. I would sell new books, along with totes, bookmarks, journals, pens, etc. It would be a two story building with a cafe on the second floor that would sell mainly light breakfast and lunch items, with baked goods and coffees and teas and other drinks. ⤵️

My bookshop would be very dreamy. A starry, constellation painted ceiling with tall bookshelves & ladders to glide around (which I'd promote). I'd serve delicate pastries, unique teas & coffees with all syrups imaginable. Music would be jazzy, & I'd probably have it located in London. I'd name it Whimsy's Library & Cafe & I'd also sell stationary. My shop would also have a piglet that the kids enjoy reading books to.
Yay for indie bookshops!
This article made me so happy; I had to share it.

I visited my happy place this morning. I hadn't been in a bookshop since last December. I expected to leave with a heavy bag or two, but I left empty-handed. 🤷♀️ It's not like I NEED more books. I've got hundreds on my tbr shelves, not even counting ebooks and audios. But still, it was weird to not really want anything. 😕
So I just brought a local bookshop 9 boxes of books, traded for some store credits (bc duh) and ended up buying some new ones, bookish socks, and some chocolates! I‘d say it was a win win all around ☺️📚🙌🏼
Love this list - I recognise some of these bookish behaviours ( well I recognise almost of to be fair!🤣🤣🤣)
They opened a new bookshop in town. Unfortunately it barely had any books in it. Haha! There were more books used as decor than they had for sale but it was still a pretty place to be.
Went out to get groceries with my sister and stepped into a bookshop. Absolute heaven; I could just feel the zen vibes returning ??♀️ Surprisingly I behaved myself and didn't buy anything because I'd just made a couple of online orders (and my sister kept texting, "Are you done" "Are you done" "Are you done" ?) A young boy came in with his parents when I was in there and said, "I'm soooo happy to be back, Mummy can I buy a story book?" ?❤️
