It was a little bit long and drawn out but not terrible. Great twist at the end.

“From the Sunday Times bestselling author of Do Not Disturb, an electrifying tale of psychological suspense in which an unsuspecting young woman finds herself trapped in an increasingly sinister web of mystery and lies.
CARER/COMPANION WANTED FOR ELDERLY LADY
YOUNG FEMALE PREFERRED
COMPETITIVE SALARY
ROOM AND BOARD INCLUDED
She thought she was safe. So did the others . . .”
This was pretty good. I was taken somewhat by surprise in certain aspects of the story while other areas I easily guessed what would happen next. I got it on sale and it kept my attention so all and all, I was satisfied. Told in 2 parts, an elderly woman seeks a young companion, preferably blonde with blue eyes like her long lost daughter, but nothing is just that simple. ⭐⭐⭐✨
Elspath is an older women who is rich and lives in a big house where she employs a carer.Una applied for the job and is excited to live in such a fancy house. She shortly finds out that the other career before her have died under mysterious circumstances. What has happened to the other girls?
A little long and drawn out for me, but good twists at the end!
Starting this one while I wait at the car dealer 😑..
This is the first time I read this author and it was a great choice. This is a cleaver thriller with enough twists and turns to keep you guessing and entertained. There were a lot of characters, but the writing allowed you to easily keep them all straight. I really enjoyed it and will certainly look for more by this British author. I gave it 4/5 stars.
Good. Interesting characters and concept, a real page turner. An atmospheric book that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Even though you think you have worked it out, the author twists the story so it that when the revelation comes you will never have seen it coming. Thank you #Penquin for inviting me to read this via #Netgalley.

What could possibly go wrong working in a beautiful house as a carer/companion for an elderly lady add in a daughter who never appears to have a good word to say and then to find that your predecessors has died an untimely death
Claire Douglas never fails to deliver and this book was no different. Great storyline with some real characters and as always the bit you never saw coming. Engaging and kept me hooked till the turn of the final page
