Aaron Mahnke's Lore podcast and books never disappoint! And I racked up another 135 points for #Scarathlon #TeamWhoYaGonnaCall
There are several Lore books out and I‘ve read one other prior to this one. This particular book is about evil people such as murderers. However, the entire book isn‘t entirely focused on killers, it‘s more about bad human behavior and the consequences of that. All these stories are true and had previously been told on the author‘s podcast. Very quirky and full of coincidences, and very enjoyable. Five stars.
The illustrations in this book hit all the right marks
I love the podcast and I enjoy the books. Fun little snippets about creepy people. Also if you ever get a chance to see the Lore podcast live, go! It's so much more fun than even the podcast.
This is my first experience with Lore and the author. I‘m listening to the author read this and his voice just isn‘t working. I need creepier and he sounds cheerful even. I‘m still enjoying the stories even with some of his cheesy lines at the ends. I‘ll read the other book in the series, but probably in his voice now. It‘s gonna haunt me 😂
This is similar in style and layout to the first book in the trilogy: Monstrous Creatures. It is still the podcast, but once again, having listened through it so fast, it‘s a nice refresh. Plus this one is about horrible people: serial killers, con artists, you name it. Just the scum of the earth. And that‘s my jam. First story was about H.H. Holmes (who has a few in this book), and I immediately squeeed in excitement.

Starting the next Lore book in the series! I‘m excited for this one! Also, perfect summer drinking glass 😂😉
It might be weird that I enjoy wrapping books so much, but there we are. #Litsyloveslibraries
When your nerdisms cross, the effect is often a bad pun. Sorry, not sorry. #LorePodcast #PokemonGo
When you pick up a book by a favorite author/podcaster and the first story is about H. H. Holmes! This is one of those stories that I find fascinating for some reason. And may I just mention how much I LOVE these illustrations by M. S. Corley!
Happy Saturday! Quiet reading time this morning, before the pup and the man wake up. Have a lovely Saturday 🖤
I‘ve thoroughly enjoyed all three of these lore books, started listening to the podcasts and plan to check out the amazon series. Anyone who has a love for the strange and spooky would enjoy it.
Starting Volume 2 of Lore. A sweet dedication, before the creepy.
Moving onto the next #Booked2019 choice on my list for the Related to a Podcast prompt. I love the green argyle printed paper inside the book. I hope this is as good as the podcast! @cinfhen @4thhouseontheleft @barbarathebibliophage
I listened to this book and it is just like listening to his podcast.
People are the scariest creatures out there and this sequel to The World of Lore shares some of those dark tales of evil people. Fans of the podcast will definitely enjoy it and I find Aaron Mahnke‘s narration really grows on me. I probably won‘t get through the third book this year, but I‘ll save it for next October. 🎃🎃🎃🎃

We had a team building function today that was right across the street from my local #indie bookstore #ParkRoadBooks. I HAD to stop before heading home. #bookhaul. I think I did a good job of controlling myself since I just bought these two. Excited to add to my stack for the October #Screamathon. 😂
"Sometimes the truth is scarier than fiction" Aaron Mahnke, Lore
The 2nd book of Lore reads as well as the first. The short story setup makes them easy to read in short bursts. Which was something I needed with Wicked Mortals. If true crime is not your genre (it's not mine) the section covering notorious murderers and serial killers might take a few breaks to get through. Outside of that it remains an entertaining read. I'm googling the release of the 3rd installment now.

Checked this out from our elibrary after seeing a publisher post about it. The stories are gripping but also super dark and frightening. I got about a third of the way through today before I decided finishing it was probably not the best thing for my brain and anxiety. Praying none of the stories find their way into my dreams tonight! 😳😫
I had to pick this up today!!! I love the podcast and the first book is great and I have to keep the collection going! I love folklore, and myths. They are so interesting!
Went to book signing for Wicked Mirtals today. Love the Podcast amd excited to get started in this book. !!!
I absolutely loved this book which I received from netgalley in exchange for an honest review. It is full of such fascinating tales of the darker side of human nature. Every story is intense and witty, plus the illustrations are great! My full review is up on my blog now and I would be so grateful if you gave it a read!
