I really enjoyed this book. A female runaway convict in the early 1920s is the star of this story, narrated by none other than...her dead baby. 😱 ...Well-written, fast paced, adventure and drama. Good stuff! I recommend giving it a go.

Published as The Burial in some territories or The Untold in others, this is an extraordinary novel, genuinely unlike any I've read before. The bewitching story is inspired by Australia's last bush ranger, a young woman named Jessie Hickman and is a page turner, with writing so beautiful in places I had to sometimes stop and let it sink in. A confronting, compelling & staggeringly beautiful read, not for the faint hearted but utterly recommended.
In the Australian bushland, Jessie races to escape 2 men, her friend & the law: with a criminal record already, she killed her husband. Whispers of "True Grit" & "The Revenant", & narrated by her dead baby! Based on a real woman. Intense. Bare. Captivating. Pair with: Toohey's Pilsner, bottles up.
