This book is like if Harry Potter was more quidditch centered without all of the controversy and also had dragons. It really was one of those books that was so diverse it slaps you in the face in the best possible way. Also dragons are excellent. It always takes skill to invent a new sport, especially one that has magic. 5🌟
Not sure why this book is still so unknown - it was so fun! (Plus, it has a great cover.) Not only do we have well-developed dragon rider lore, but a whole sport designed around dragon riding! And there is magic unrelated to dragons as well.
Reading confession: I have a lot of trouble doing fantasy novels as audiobooks. I can listen to romance, sci-fi, and the driest non-fiction, but for some reason I cannot finish fantasy audiobooks.
I decided to check out my library's ebook copy of Blazewrath Games since I'm struggling with the audiobook, and most of my non-ARC DNFs over the last few years have been fantasy audiobooks. Anyone else have a genre/format issue like this or just me?
After a lot of deliberation (and accepting I cannot finish a 12 hour audiobook in the next 24 hours), I think I've got my February #bookspinbingo list ready to go.

Here is my January #BookSpin list. I have 18 books on the list, a majority of them are for #NewYearWhoDis. Spots 19 & 20 will be for #BOTMBacklist
I have no idea if I‘m going to do the bingo for January, but we‘ll see.
"Dragons are better company than people."
I think I am already in love! This book and I are destined to be! ????
Omg @rachelsbrittain So many good looking books on your list! I feel like a kid in a candy store
I‘ve read 3 on the list so far so they aren‘t pictured above.
I‘m so upset the Echo Wife doesn‘t come out until Feb 😂
Do I need to have read the other murderbot books to read the 5th? I‘ve only read the first 2.
I can‘t wait to try and read all of these! I‘ll look to see what my library has tomorrow!

I was having a bad day last week and treated myself to these two. My nephew already claimed games to read first.
An international sport of dragon riding and a girl thrust into the middle of a huge conspiracy. I love fantasy that explores the intersection of tech and magic, and this book did such a phenomenal job of it. Lana Torres becomes the newest member of Team Puerto Rico after her quick thinking saves a dragon during a terrorist attack on a wand shop. But there's more to the game than it seems. YA fantasy at its best!
1. Blazewrath Games and Once and Future Witches
2. Phoenix Extravagant
3. Blazewrath Games because I very quickly realized I was going to need a physical copy for my shelf 😂🙈

"Before the sport of Blazewrath was created, the question among witches and wizards remained the same: How can we keep our world a secret from humans who do not possess magic?"

Actually managed to get some words on the page today (something of a feat right now) and reading q wonderfully fun book about witches and magic and dragons that I suspect is going to be a new favorite and just picked up a bunch of cupcakes and having Thai for dinner so today has been pretty good
I am posting one book per day from my extensive to-be-read collection. No description and providing no reason for wanting to read it, I just do. Some will be old, some will be new. Don‘t judge me - I have a lot of books. Join the fun if you want.
This is day 209 #bookstoread #tbrpile #bookstagram
This was such a fun fantasy. It's the world cup with dragons and team Puerto Rico represents for the first time in this competition in the story. But there's a greater mystery afoot and lana torres must choose to fight for something more important than the games, the cup she's dreamed of winning her whole life. ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Got an ARC for this one for the hear our voices book tour coming up. Loving it so far. World cup with dragons, and a protagonist repping puerto rico? Yes please! #latinxheritagemonth #amreadingyafantasy
1. The City We Became, Network Effect, and She Came to Slay
2. Blazewrath Games by Amparo Oritz
