Initially, this cozy felt like a-so-so,but once I got into the book became a pick.An easy read, full of pumpkin recipes & cocktails.I don‘t like pumpkin anything so I wasn‘t about to try any of them, but for those love pumpkin I think the recipes would be a hit!The setting is Bar Harbor Maine, which is also why I chose this book-I love Acadia. The book‘s premise:Hayley,🔽

1. Chuck Klosterman, David Sedaris...essayist with a sense of humor/one-of-a-kind perspective are a weakness, perhaps...
2. Birth of my daughter & it finally feels like fall (my favorite season 🍂🍁🎃)
3. Yes! Love scary movies (preferably psychological scary over gore-filled scary)
4. Shark?!
5. 72 (with a crisp autumnal morning)

Have a great weekend, everyone! #friyayintro

MinDea Have you watched It Follows or Channel Zero? 7y

JackOBotts @MinDea I've seen Get Out & It Follows. Get Out was fantastic...what an amazing debut for Jordan Peele! It Follows was also good: I appreciated the underlying commentary (or what I saw as the commentary...need to check out Channel Zero...sounds sufficiently creepy! I recommend Hush (Netflix)...more gore, but absolutely terrifying, and pretty original concept! 7y
JackOBotts Thank you, @Texreader ! October has been good to me! 🤗 7y
Cinfhen I think your answer to number 2 tops all 💕💕💕 7y

I love both pumpkin and apple! Cozy's ok but bring on the horror! Haunted House! Hot cocoa! Pumpkin patch because mazes freak me out! Bonfires! Football I guess. Go Bears! #falltimefavorites

BibliophileMomma Nothing to worry about in the mazes but those pesky corn kids. 😱🤣🤣😱 7y

Mehso-so

Meh. Too many inconsistencies and a bit of a clunky read.

I have never read a cozy type mystery, giving this one a shot as it's season appropriate. Along with buttermilk apple spice cake and tea.
