This one was just ok. I didn‘t find the adventures of two 9 year old besties cute or charming. I was more bored and annoyed by their mischievous actions. Oh well, one more book off the nightstand!

“Grandpa, I miss her dreadfully,“ I said in the end, starting to cry again.
Grandpa looked at me seriously and said that missing people is the best sad feeling there is.“
My favorite part about this book is the emotion is brings and the love of family and friendship it shows through out it.
Adventures with Waffles by Maria Parr was such a playful yet sweet book to read. I read the whole book. It is about 2 characters named Trille and Lena and they invent some kind of adventure that often ends in trouble. Like sledding down the steepest and iciest hill with a chicken. Trille loves to share everything with Lena, even Auntie Granny‘s waffles. Then Lena has to move away and Auntie Granny leaves the world. It is all about friends & family
“she‘s my best friend, even if she is a girl” I chose this quote becuase it simply told the conflict that the character is feeling and struggling with
I would use this early on in teaching this genre becuase it is a chapter book but at the same time very simple and not too much of a complex story
This is a contemporary realistic fiction book. It does a good job of portraying children‘s everyday life becuase it tells a story that‘s applicable to almost all children and their friendships. This is a chapter book and I read the whole book to count it as 5 books
A great book to read if someone is dealing with friendship problems!
Everyone has that best friend where they doing anything and everything with, whether it is a person, animal, or stuffed animal! Trille and Lena are best friends who tell everyone everything but one is keeping a secret that could compromise the friendship. Genre: Realistic Fiction; Published: 2013; Illustrator: Kate Forrester
Candlewick Press, 2005
Adventures with Waffles covers a topic that is very relevant to its target audience: friends. The primary internal conflict comes from Trille wondering if Lena is his best friend. At the end of the day, she is. Cute story, would reccomend.
The waffle part of the title must come from trille. trille loves to share everything with his/her friend Lena, even auntie granny‘s waffles!
-contemporary realistic fiction
These two kids are best friends and often come up with crazy adventures. This would really catch a child‘s eye because jts so funny and realistic!
Adventures with Waffles is my third book for #twointhree
This book is sweet and Trille and Lena‘s story reminded me of all the antics my best friend and I got up to when we were little😂
