Take a wondrous walk through Paris while enjoying this beautiful book.
I‘ve had the good fortune of spending Christmas in Paris for two out of the last ten years, so now I get a little lonely for The City of Lights around the holidays.
More reading in preparation of #vacancesfrancaises today. I was expecting more historical essays and less of a memoir from this one, but it‘s eminently readable, so I don‘t mind. Pairs well with white wine and the flânerie of an enclosed porch.
Proof positive that I never get rid of an advance copy until I've read it - this one got lost in the jumble of moving about 5 years ago and I only just recently unearthed it. It's a nice, easily digestible book about a non-native, resident Parisian's favorite way to enjoy the city - by walking through its various neighborhoods and enjoying the strangeness of history. A fun read for winter.
Thanks for the ARC @HarperPerennial :)
Library used bookstore haul! I'm still working on my hypothetical trip to Europe with guides to Paris and Ireland. Also some fiction (recommended by Litsy-ers!), and a guide to Aspergers (my son is autistic). I love finding awesome books! (Also, that's my cat, Emma. She's Satan's cat about 95% of the time, but right now she's decided to investigate and care. For maybe 30 seconds.)📚📚📚
