A sweet book about a young American girl's trip to Europe in the 1800s. I read the first 2 books years ago and have decided to continue with this series.

Books from this era that tell a story of someone going abroad to Europe always intrigue me and also somewhat embarrass me, because if I went to Europe I would be significantly less knowledgeable than most of these book characters, plus I don't speak a single word of French! This was another enjoyable, although quiet, entry in the Katy Carr series.
What an odd book this is! At times the author seems to be revelling in the adventure, furnishing the story with paragraphs of lovely description. Then at others she shunts aside the possibility that Katy might explore the places she visits on-page - instead wasting words on one of the most spoilt fictional children of all time! I went on Instagram Live to talk about this book, it'll be up for the next 24hrs if you want to check it out! #sbksept
I think this is supposed to be a London accent 😂 #sbksept
