This is what my week has been like so far... sipping hot chocolate, looking at Christmas lights, and reading a fairytale ❤️ It‘s definitely a cute read that‘s very similar to the movie.

Not a bad retelling of Rapunzel but it didn‘t quite work in some places. Very heavy on Christianity, which makes sense for the time period. However, it was more of a lecture in many places than something the characters believed. Parts of the plot flowed well, while others were kind of bland and tedious.

rretzler Have you read any of Vivian Vande Velda‘s fairytale retellings? Cloaked in Red and The Rumplestiltskin Problem are middle-grade reads that are very fun as is Tales From the Brothers Grimm and Sisters Weird. The first two are books of retellings of the same story while the third contains a variety of different stories. 5y

I liked reading this. The story wasn‘t QUITE original (got a Tangled throwback) and it was oddly heavy on the Christianity. In the first half it made sense for the time period, but at the end I felt like I was back in youth group with my pastor trying to tie everything back to God and the Bible.
Still an enjoyable read!

I‘m excited to read one of the books I received in the #happilyeverafterswap from @biblioprincess for the #letterD of the #LitsyAtoZ challenge. Decided to break my sci-fi streak and move onto the fairytales to get me into a magical mood for upcoming mermaid season 🧜🏼‍♀️

@biblioprincess I LOVE ALL MY THINGS THANK YOU! As you can tell I like the chocolates heehee. I cannot remember mentioning that green is my favorite color but it is AND I love Celtic knots! The bookmark is beautiful and so is the lovely stone box (what kind of stone is it?)! I have not heard of either of these books and I am SO EXCITED TO READ THEM! Thank you! ❤️

It was a good story. It does not exactly follow the original Rapunzel story, but I didn‘t mind. It was a sweet romance, which was perfect for this hopeless romantic.😂

BeansPage Hey sweetie, if you go to your profile underneath your followers and the people you follow and your Litfluence total, you will see an open book next to a closed book. The open-book shows you what you have stopped to read. And the clothes book tells you what you have read and what you rated as. 6y

A Rapunzel retelling full of the dangers of long-kept secrets, manipulative villains, and heartfelt romance. #Gold #JuneTunz (I received a free copy of this book. All opinions expressed are my own.)

This might be my last Rapunzel retelling for a while, and I'm gearing up for my next fixation: Peter Pan Retellings (so if you know of any good ones, send them my way)

OHHH I adored this Rapunzel retelling! It does not stick to the original fairytale exactly, which I love. This book is 6th in a companion series: I read it first without problem. It read quickly and easily (like younger YA) which is great because I was looking for a short break from the world's ills when I picked it up. Fun characters. I'll definitely be back for more of this series.

Meh. I generally like retellings of fairy tales but this one never quite grabbed me. I found it too predictable and way too religious for me. Still, I mostly liked Rapunzel and the knight and their back stories were interesting.
