Jemima Small Versus the Universe
Jemima Small Versus the Universe | Tamsin Winter

Jemima Small finds it hard to measure up. Especially because she's the very opposite of her name. And being forced to join a healthy eating group at school means no one will let her forget that. But if theres one big thing she has going for her its her attitude and shes determined to prove that Jemima Small is a Big Deal. A brilliantly funny and touching new novel exploring big issues of bullying, body confidence and, most importantly, learning how to be happy with who you are.

Jemima just wanted to be like the other girls. She‘s called “Jemima Big”, forced into the school health group - aka “Fat Club”. A brilliantly, funny and touching book that explored the big issues of bullying, body confidence and most importantly how to be happy how you are. It‘s important for older readers to read this too as it helps put you back in the mindset of how teenage girls think and feel. Shared with my 13 year old too ❤️

I love YA fiction and was lucky enough to get a signed bookmark too! This story should be read in high schools across the country by both girls and boys. It really hits a nerve (in a gentle and sensitive way) about being different and that we should embrace this...no matter what we look like. We should be proud of who we are! A great read and well written.
