Gonna aim to read at least one manga volume a week as one of my (many) #2024readinggoals. Cheers to a new hashtag #mangaweekly and what I've chosen for Week 2.

A scary Yakuza known as the immortal dragon turned doting and intense house husband? I couldn‘t get enough! My library had volumes 1-6 and now I‘m anxiously in search of 7 and 8. Tatsu is precious and hilarious 💛
Utterly ridiculous and cute manga about an ex Yakuza turned house husband

This is soooo cute and comical! Tatsumi, a former feared Yakuza crime boss, is now retired and living a life of domesticity as a house husband to his busy working wife. While he cooks, shops for groceries, and mingles with other neighboring housewives, his past haunts him the form of old foes and suspicious law enforcement in this humorous manga.
This is just adorable. I‘m getting the next from the library. I‘m in love with him.
This is a book of short slice-of-life stories and I was hoping for a little more depth. Cute, but not enough to make me continue reading the series.
Way of the House Husband, Volume 1
Simple and funny 😄 Got several good laughs out of this volume and now I want more!

This book is about a man named Tatsu, a former yukuza (Japanese mafia) boss and a highly feared man. However, Tatsu has given up his mob bass life and has settled in the role of househusband for his working wife. Throughout the book, Tatsu hilariously deals with everyday tasks such as shopping and cooking meals, while also dealing with enemies and employees of the past. If you‘re a fan of manga such as Mob Psycho 100 or-(more in comments)
No one can convince me this is not a masterpiece.
Watched the show on Netflix, figured it was a good way to get into manga!
Another @Matilda recommendation, this one made me laugh, too. A yakuza legend decides to become a stay-at-home husband. Some of the translated language grated. I didn‘t expect the “yer” and “ain‘t” in a lot of the speech bubbles, but overall, it was entertaining.
“Maybe a house husband and a Yakuza are two sides of the same coin?!”
Yeah, that about sums it up! Highly recommend if you need a good laugh! #manga
Read this while waiting for a haircut and it made me laugh out loud!!
Its a little choppy in the plot and chapter progression but overall a fun read.
What can I say? It was just so plain fun to read.
Clever, funny, and intriguing. I am looking forward to reading the next one! #Kobo #BrooklynPublicLibrary #marvellousmarch #seriesread2021
I found out last night that Way of the Househusband won an Eisner Award for Best Humour Publication!
I love this series, the artwork in the series is very detailed, especially when it comes to the tattoo designs and serious facial expressions, and the shenanigans through the story are laughable.

The second volume isn't in the data base but oh well. This continues to follow a former gang boss as he does mundane house things in his intense way. It's pretty amusing.
I‘m going to be honest I picked this up because I‘ve been so stressed recently and god I love this manga so much, such a funny carefree collection of stories.
1) Way of the Husband made me laugh so much.
2) The last book that (almost) made me cry was Locke & Key

Well this is the first #24in48 #not24in48 I haven't accomplished. However, after a very rough week my mind and body needed a reading weekend with my sisters. We were able to get a hotel room and lock ourselves away all weekend to read, eat, laugh, and talk. I could have reached 24 hours, but by 10:30 PM yesterday I was exhausted (the whole week catching up to me). I managed to finish six books (which was my goal). I almost finished my (cont.)
I like the premise of this, but it was a little one note at times. I'm curious to see where this series goes, I'd like to know why he's now a house husband instead of in the Yakuza.

This book was so much fun and I can't wait to read the next one! 😁 I wish I didn't read manga so fast because I got this from the library and now I have to wait for them to order the rest of the books. 😭
