Hoping to finish Kill Our Sins. Loving this series. Listening to Our Lady of Pain- maybe 2 chapters? If I can, get to The Heart Principle. This week I have work, & my 2 sister-in-laws visiting so maybe just maybe I can squeeze some reading in.
Today: between a UConn‘s game & the Red Sox tonight sports have been a highlight at my house. Did get a couple of hours combined reading & listening in.

Andrew65 Good luck 😊👍 3y

Mehso-so

Nearly a pan, but the fact that this is the last book and the characters were all tied up nice and tidy made it a so-so. Most every character annoyed me. The twists and turns were mostly unbelievable. Eh. Just glad to have it done. Not terrible, and I don't hate it, but not very good, either. Oh well!

AlaMich Was this one of her series? 8y
LauraBrook @AlaMich Yeah, this was the last (of 4) of the Edwardian Mystery series. The first two I liked, third was okay, this was annoying. 8y

This one is the last of a 4-part mystery series. I liked the first 3 but didn't love them. I'm hoping that this one (a week overdue, no renewals, oops) will have a strong finish.
Has anyone else read this series?

AlaMich I haven't read this series but I have read half of another of her many series, A House for the Season. Though that was all romance, no mystery. Nice and fluffy, good for phases where your brain is useless, if you know what I mean 😉 8y
LauraBrook @AlaMich I'd forgotten about that series - only read the first one, but I liked it! I'm starting to fear that my reading will all be fluff, since that's what it's mostly been for a couple of years! Oh well - at least it's fun! If you find this series, it's worth checking out. Sort of has a similar feel to the House for the Season series. 8y
AlaMich That Marion Chesney was (is?) one prolific lady!! 8y

LauraBrook @AlaMich Is, thankfully and yes she is! How do people like her and Nora Roberts do it?!? Amazing. The first book is Snobbery With Violence, and the first half is just setting up the characters and world. It takes awhile for a body to appear. 8y
shanaqui I enjoyed these in a sort of trashy fluffy way, but I got bored of the characters by the last book! 8y
LauraBrook @shanaqui I'm halfway through and feeling the same way. Everyone seems so whiney, moaning about how life is so hard. Plus, whose parents say they care about their daughter and are worried about her, but then ditch her with anyone, anywhere that will take her? And leave for parts unknown, telling absolutely no one? Okay, now I'm disliking these characters even more. Will speed-read to the end. 8y
