Wren Abbot kidnaped was when she was eight years old. During her kidnap she discovered the kidnapper had a daughter her age, who was named Darra. Wren escapes and her kidnapper goes to jail. Years go by, and the two girls meet each other at camp. At camp Wren hated Darra at first, but eventually they became friends as they explained their point of view of the situation,
#SpringIntoReading Day 12: Over and above the main conflict that the two girls here need to resolve amongst themselves, we are also taken to the world of teenagers – particularly girls with their #cliques, unspoken pacts of exclusivity, and the ultimate challenge of going beyond appearances and ‘coolness‘ – to get to the real individual within. My review of this novel-in-verse here: https://wp.me/pDlzr-2qJ
I thought this book (about two girls who meet years after Darra‘s dad kidnaps Wren) would pack a punch but it came off as really bland.
It was an amazing book, written in a perspective a little girl whose mom car got stolen at the gas station with her inside. Great book will read again

This book is a short novel, written in verse from two different perspectives: that of Wren, a child hiding in a car that was stolen, and Darra, the child of the thief who stole the car. It shows how their lives intertwine through the years as they end up in the same camp together as teens. We hear all about Wren‘s side - but what about Darra‘s? The truth is a hidden “message” within the verse.
Wren was kidnapped when she was eight--by Darra's father. Years later, they meet again at summer camp and recognize one another. Secrets they have been keeping for years might be revealed, so they have to figure out how to interact with one another. (Also, gorgeous cover art.)
