I mostly liked this mystery/suspense audiobook but there was one twist that I didn't think really fit the story.
An ok thriller, mostly enjoyable.

4✨ I could have read this in one sitting. There is one main mystery of a baby found dead. Molly a journalist is called onto the scene. As the mystery is unfolding we learn several more layers that connect to this main mystery. I like that is was easy to follow with the multiple layers, but it also made it easy to figure out what happened.

In Ridgedale, New Jersey, the body of a newborn is found in the woods near the campus of the town's prestigious university. No one knows the identity of the baby or what ended her short life. Freelance journalist Molly Anderson is called upon to cover the disturbing news for the Ridgedale Reader, the town's local paper. A severe depression followed the loss of her own baby.
I really liked this book! It caught my attention right away and having the different povs and chat room discussions, newspaper clippings, really just brought the book to life. It was a little predictable and I wish it would of gave a little more at the end. But all in all the writing was beautiful and it kept me interested until the very end. 4.5/5 stars, definitely recommend!
Picture one of those big investigation boards with strings connecting different pieces of evidence-that‘s this book. Multiple POVs with seemingly no connections initially, but then the strings begin linking everything together. Enthralling.
Reading this book somewhat felt like a chore but I kept going because I felt strongly that the ending would be mind blowing. The book had a ton of characters that I felt was difficult to balance in the first half of the book but after some time it wasnt as hard to remember who was who. I didn't like a single character. I will say, though, that I do see how someone would love this and the ending was not at all expected which was rewarding.
So grateful that some restrictions have been lifted and I'm finally able to visit my husband in the hospital. ❤️🏥
“The moment was so beautiful and perfect....But it didn't feel like it belonged to me,not in any permanent sense. *Happy was my adopted country, not my native land*. I was still bracing to be expelled without warning.“
The main character has depression, and this * is particularly poignant.
It expresses a part of what anyone who suffers from symptoms of some mental illnesses feel. The inadequacy, sadness, and being overwhelmed.

Written in several different POV‘s, jumping back and forth in time; sometimes a recipe for disaster. Not this time. McCreight is now a must read for me.
GG and reading. What better way to spend the night?!
Took awhile to get to the ending but definitely worth it!
This is one of those books that‘s overall a good read, but goes down so many different tangents you feel like you really have to pay attention instead of the book taking over your whole life 😅 might be a bit fussy but it was just ok for me
I don‘t always like books from multiple perspectives but this one wasn‘t too hard to follow and she weaved it together nicely. And it‘s nice when I actually have a twist I didn‘t see coming. I like this cover too.
I read this for booksandlala‘s readathon, this one is for the word Where.

1. I like the cover of the tagged book.
2. It's my daughter's 23rd birthday, but she'll be with her boyfriend, so we'll probably have a quiet night at home.
3. Mustard brownish-yellow
4. George, after my grandfather and father. My younger brother got the name instead.

This book is a little dark, but it was suspenseful and I really got sucked in to the story. I think I read the whole thing in under a week!
Both me and a colleague finished our books on the same shift so decided to do a swap! Finished Jodi picoults, perfect match - onto where they found her!
Six months after moving from NY to sophisticated Ridgedale, New Jersey, Molly is finally enjoying life again, as mother of a daughter and arts reporter for the local paper. But this stability is threatened when the body of a newborn is found in the woods behind the University and Molly is assigned the story. Over the objections of her husband, she dives into reporting, determined to uncover the truth.
Finished this one up - boy what a ride! So many twists and turns - and all resolved in a pretty neat package. I especially liked that once the mystery was solved, the book didn't just end. I like when authors linger and allow us to gently come down from the big reveal instead of ending their books there.
Strong characters (a lot of them!!!), intriguing story, and well-written... My only complaint is that there were *almost* too many characters.
My favorite place - on the porch, doing my favorite thing - reading. I love Maine. ♡
Should be done with this book today!!!
I could not put this down!! Ignored my family all night finishing it.
I haven't had as much reading time as I want lately... and it's getting to me! I was excited to be able to stay up late reading last night since it was a Friday - but I only managed a chapter before promptly falling asleep with my book in my lap. D'oh!
I'm only about 60 pages in - but this one is extremely promising so far. I like the author's writing style and character development very much... in particular the shifting tone of her narrators.
It‘s a pretty good read so far. I‘m kind of having trouble enjoying it though because I‘m overly eager to get to the rest of the books on my huge #tbr stack. Sigh. #booknerdproblems
Really enjoyed this book. I liked the variety of viewpoints used to bring the story together. There were some predictable elements that made you feel like you figured the whole thing out, but I definitely wasn‘t expecting the actual twist. Going to be adding more from this author to my #TBR!
Getting ready to start another from my April #TBR and I can‘t help but think of The Killing when I look at the cover of this book...#damnLinden
Motherhood hasn't come at all easy for Molly Anderson. But she's finally enjoying life as mother to Ella and as Arts reporter for the small but respectable Ridgedale Reader. That is, until a body is found in the woods adjacent to Ridgedale University's campus.
The discovery threatens to unearth secrets long buried by the town's most powerful residents, and brings Molly to two women who are far more deeply connected than they have ever realised.
My first Kimberly McCreight book...it was good but took a while to grab hold of me. Described as 'a rollercoaster' by Jodi Picoult I wouldn't quite have gone that far...but I would read other book's of Kimberlys.
I LOVED this book! It hooked me from the first page and I didn't want to put it down!
I loved this book. It kept me guessing the whole time. I especially liked how the story was told through the point of view of 3 different women, all in the same small town. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Waiting for my friend, figured I‘d knock out a few chapters.

My husband and I went to the #GreenValleyBookFair today. We picked out books for each other.
There were so many different threads to this story that I was convinced they would never pull together correctly or in any satisfying way, but I was pleasantly surprised. Definitely not groundbreaking material, but the characters are human and interesting and it's a super quick read.
“Even seasoned mystery readers won‘t see the twists coming in this fast-paced read filled with unreliable narrators.” — Cleveland Plain Dealer
I couldn‘t agree more.
This book will keep you guessing till the last few chapters.
I'd recommend it for fans of life drama, YA and lite mysteries.
