Before Pippin and I settled in to read I took this picture of my incredibly festive favorite reading spot. If you look close, you can see the stained glass version of Pip hanging in the window.

Today's edition of Pippin sleeping under my Kindle has the added bonus of being festive! My house looks like a holiday tornado blew in, but that's a project for tomorrow. Right now, I'm enjoying a mug of tea, kitten snugs, and a great book.

We got all of the holiday decorations out of the attic this evening and set the tree up. It's in a new location, so we're going to give the cats a few days before we decorate it. But I have the perfect festive view from where we moved my reading chair. 🥰🎄
Great book that expands the universe, introduces background w/o being horribly boring and leaves on a character introduction that is NEVER followed up 🥺🥺🥺
Maud decides to follow the vampire that claims to love her back to his planet, and hopes her half vampire child will thrive there while she decides if she wants to marry another Vampire. Politics, battles, and bloodshed balanced with romance. 4/5 stars hopefully more books in the series soon!
During this #easterextravaganza week, I:
• got THE HENCHMEN OF ZENDA, THE LAST MAASAI WARRIORS, THE SILENCE OF THE SEA, and MISS LANDON AND AUBRANAEL off La TBR by finishing or bailing on them
• read WISH VOL 4 and GOLDIE VANCE VOLs 1 & 2 on the comics front
• finished TRUST WITH A CHASER by Annabeth Albert and XENI and RAFE by Rebekah Weatherspoon on audio
• will finish the tagged book tonight
No time to reread FLORA‘S DARE. 😔#bookreport
WHY, Ilona Andrews? I mean, every time a writer uses the Common YA Line I assume it‘s a deliberate jab at the reader, but I wish we‘d move past this as a culture. Let it end. It‘s time.
I tried to do some outdoor reading with adorable company, but the clouds moved in and it got too cold. Blah. Please come soon, spring!
I‘m about 40% into SWEEP OF THE BLADE now and I anticipate a good binge read tonight. It feels mighty nice to be back in this universe. #easterextravaganza
I‘m glad I finally get to start SWEEP OF THE BLADE! I‘ve missed these characters in the couple weeks since I finished ONE FELL SWEEP, and I‘m excited to spend more time amongst the vampires. #easterextravaganza
This particular book in the series was solely dedicated to Maud and the vampire world. It came with lots of rich battle scenes and the strategic maneuvering of enemies and allies. The vampires are a very warlike culture and it was fascinating to see Maud fit in as a human. She has a very different personality from her sister Dina.
My husband and I are supposed to be watching the most recent episode of The Outsider right now, but he fell asleep while we got the kids to bed (as always... 😒). So I downloaded this as part of my “Finish Series I‘ve Already Started” goal of 2020. I really didn‘t think I had read this yet, but the beginning seems very familiar. Maybe there was a teaser at the end of book 3?
Book 4 for the Innkeeper Chronicles. Enjoying this read. It‘s Mauds story, her experience living with vampires is going to save her bacon 🥓
Great last book on the inkeepers series. Fun and crazy romance with madcap adventures. Looking forward to the next book in the series
I had such fun reading this story. I loved the “dance” between Maud and Arland. Arland was different in this story compared to his usual and it was clear that he had a vested interest in Maud. He truly cared for her. I think Arland was unrealistic about what Maud would endure when she paid a visit to House Krahr but I liked him as a romantic lead. There was nothing too swoony in this story but at the same time the romance was there.
We depart from Dina and her Inn to follow Maud on her adventures amongst House Krahr. Political intrigue, family drama, romantic tension, and tidbits that point to many more stories in the Innkeeper Chronicles. May the mighty Ilona Andrews team write forever!
A little late!
📖Love the tagged book!

I really really love these. I hope this isn't the last one, because way to leave us on the edge of cliff, there!
1. I‘ve read a lot of great books lately but the tagged is my favorite
2. Ness or Nessa
3. Cheese and meat trays
4. Getting over a sinus infection, lesson planning and of course reading!
5. Sadly I only know English, my main life shame

Second book done for #24b4Monday! Tagged was an excellent continuation of the Innkeeper series by Ilona Andrews. It is part of a series, though it can standalone, I highly recommend starting at the beginning. There‘s so much to recommend but it will spoil too much. I will just lead with this-Space Vampires... next up Lady Derring Takes a Lover!

Vampires in space! Not the immortal bloodsucking kind, the medieval knight with rigid codes of conduct kind, with technology! Ebook is the complete part 4 of the serial the author provides free on their website.
How cute is Helen my favorite half vampire half human 5 year old. (But she'll get you with those knives 😁) pic from ebook
Works as a standalone from the first 3 Innkeepers.
Also meets #readingrush challenge non human character
Fun read with Maud and Arland and a lot of Very Serious VAMPIRR WARRRR IN SPAAAAACE plots, with some aliens involved. Ends on a cliffhanger you just KNEW would come someday. I‘ll give it a 4⭐️ for being very much what it is, and for Helen. #fantasy
Lest you all think I only read Extremely Serious Nonfiction ...😂
As a fan of the precursor Innkeeper series, I read this as a free web serial & was interested in the differences between the two versions. There aren‘t many, truth be told. Sweep of the Blade is Maud and Arland‘s story and it‘s an interesting expansion of the universe. It‘s enjoyable but very much a middle series book. As such, doesn‘t really “end” which is a tad frustrating but it‘s a fun read firmly in keeping with Andrew‘s style & cannon.
