Nikola Tesla
Nikola Tesla: Imagination and the Man That Invented the 20th Century | Sean Patrick
14 posts | 8 read | 20 to read
If you want to learn about one of historys most fascinating minds and uncover some of his secrets of imaginationsecrets that enabled him to invent machines light years ahead of his time and literally bring light to the worldthen you want to read this book. Imagination amplifies and colors every other element of genius, and unlocks our potential for understanding and ability. Its no coincidence that geniuses not only dare to dream of the impossible for their work, but do the same for their lives. Theyre audacious enough to think that theyre not just ordinary players. Few stories better illustrate this better than the life of the father of the modern world, a man of legendary imaginative power and wonder: Nikola Tesla. In this book, youll be taken on a whirlwind journey through Teslas life and work, and not only learn about the successes and mistakes of one of historys greatest inventors, but also how to look at the world in a different, more imaginative way. Read this book now and learn lessons from Nikola Tesla on why imagination is so vital to awakening your inner genius, and insights into the real secret to creativity, as explained by people like Jobs, Picasso, Dali, and Twain.

amazing read! The best part was this book is not all about Tesla but also gives you a deep intro to things which we have taken for granted - our curiosity, imagination and much more. When it comes to Tesla the author summarised his life very well but very cleverly leaves you Curious for More about the man behind the machines. Oh I'm now hungry to watch a documentary on Tesla and visually satisfy my eyes.

There is a Tesla charging station near my house. All I see are spaces that offer uninterrupted reading time.

zsuzsanna_reads They do charge super fast! We rented one for a roadtrip round Norway last year. It was awesome. 6y

@saresmoore Hope your hubby markets this to death 😀👏👏

Lindy Edward Humes sold me on the feasibility of widespread electric driverless cars in 8y
LauraBeth @Lindy I drove an electric car for a while and LOVED it! Sadly, I had to get rid of it because the lovely politicians in my state don't want you to drive electric cars because they want to collect the tax hikes they've imposed on gas. So they came up with a plan to punish electric car drivers by imposing a heavy financial penalty to register it. The state is also ripping out all HOV lanes in favor of toll lanes ☹️☹️ 8y
Owlizabeth @LauraBeth that's ridiculous! 👎🏼👎🏼 8y

In today's episode of checking in to see how much longer I can read before the husband interrupts me - it appears he's looking to buy a Tesla 😂

saresmoore DO IT!!! (My husband works for Tesla.) 8y
saresmoore Seriously, the test drives are super fun. There's a "Ludicrous Speed" setting. I'd say you can count on another hour of reading time if the owner advisors are doing their jobs well. ? 8y
LauraBeth Fingers crossed @saresmoore! We've already dipped our toe into the electric car pool but had a Leaf, which wasn't big enough for Bitsy (and my permanent-in-the-summertime pool noodles). If I get a Tesla it'll probably be the only one with an interior that smells like redneck dog and chlorine 😬 8y

saresmoore @LauraBeth I think that's the best kind! Bites would love the falcon wing doors in the Model X...and so would your noodles! 8y
LeahBergen At least he's not hanging with The Lice Ladies! 😂 8y

Hooked_on_books Honesty time: I have an S. I love it. Two dogs easily fit in the spacious back seat. And I have no idea what gas costs. 😬 8y
LauraBeth @Hooked_on_books love it! I drove a Leaf for a couple of years and loved not knowing how much gas cost 😀That's good to know that two dogs can fit back there 🐶🐶 8y
LauraBeth @Ashley_Nicoletto and @Robothugs well I was too busy today to check to see if he made a repeat visit 😂 8y

This is not a full biography of Tesla, and I too thought that it would be when I started reading. That did not take away from my enjoyment of the book, though.

bitterbear @writerlibrarian I loved that book! 8y
writerlibrarian @bitterbear It's quite a good book much better than Samantha Hunt's novel. Hunt's has some very good parts but some cringe worthy ones too. (edited) 8y

Mehso-so

Odd mix of a) what makes a genius and b) cliff note version of Tesla's biography.

Due to the short format of a Kindle Single, it made both parts feel lackluster.

Opportunities are whispers, not foghorns.
If we can't hear their soft rhythms-if we are too busy rushing about, waiting for thunderclaps of revelation, inspiration, and certainty-or if we can spot them but can't nurture them into real advantages, then we might as well be blind to them.

Riveted_Reader_Melissa I agree! That's good! 9y
