Torte‘s annual staff Christmas party is interrupted when the new owner of the local, historic inn is found murdered at the bottom of the staircase. W/ vandalism, sabotage, & poisonings, Jules has her work cut out for her to catch a killer.

As always, I really love the descriptions of food, & the community within Torte, & the Christmas setting was charming. But the conclusion felt too rushed & summarized to me, & didn‘t feel set up well.🌕🌕🌕🌗🌑

Getting my #WinterGames2024 TBR started means first picking my #SeasonalCozies read! I‘ve enjoyed what I‘ve read in this series so far, so I‘m excited to give this Christmas one a try.

This was my very first cozy mystery, and it was fun! A nice switch up from the holiday rom-coms, while still keeping me in the holiday spirit. The whodunnit aspect was a bit abrupt as it didn‘t have a lot of lead up, but it fit into the story. I‘d definitely try another cozy mystery in the future.

Tagged book happens to be set in Ashland, OR where I am currently visiting!

Continuing with my cozies- I‘m starting the next Bakeshop Mystery on my list. As an incentive to get through these, I have a galley of the new one that releases the end of December! (Also Cletus says hi to his Litsy family!)

This is one of those times where I wish there was a button between “So-So“ and “Pick“. This was a cute book, but I am not huge on holiday-type books (unless the holiday is Halloween). I did enjoy it though.

I‘ve never read this series but in times of stress I gravitate to Christmas lol. This was a lovely book, I enjoyed the setting and the baking. While the killer was a little surprising the overall mystery itself did not feel as intense and urgent as other cozies. A nice light read. I‘d say fluffy but many think that‘s a negative thing- though I don‘t ;)

Wes is with my parents so I can work on packing, which means I get to stay up “late” and read with some hot cocoa! (Because of course it snowed in WI today 😂)

This is a cute little cozy mystery which mostly made me hungry. Recipes are in the back 🧋

How Torte, my favorite cozy mystery series cafe & bakeshop decorates for the holidays:

“Bunches of ivy, laurel, and holly twisted with golden twinkle lights wrapped around the bay windows and had been adorned along the espresso bar and around our chalkboard menu. Sprigs of mistletoe dangled above the door. Gorgeous aromatic wreaths made of fresh herbs like rosemary and bay hung from every window.”

What I love most about this series is the way I get as wrapped up in the daily life of the characters as I do in the mystery.

I devoured this series and I love a cozy set during the holidays! Torte never disappoints and can‘t wait until the next one comes out!

I loved this book. A fun,festive cozy mystery. The characters were lovely, the setting was beautiful,and of course the food was yummy.
