So. Much. Drama. Thought I might write a proper review at some point, but I think this one basically covers it. The domestic drama in this is STACKED and it was absorbing and undemanding.

6th book completed for the #AwesomeAugust #readathon @Andrew65
This was an old Amazon First Reads that I never got around to. This book dealt with the difficult topic of rape in the context of a thriller, but I thought it was handled well because everyone surrounding the victim behaved as abominably as they would in a real life scenario. There were no likable characters here, but I liked the book.
TW: rape
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Lots of twists and turns, even though it was somewhat predictable at times. I did really like the way the author handled the shifting POVs, and also examined the discrepancy that can occur between who think we are and who our actions reveal us to be when when find ourselves faced with the unexpected.
Looks like there are mixed reviews about this one, but I thought it was well done! There were enough surprises to keep me reading past my bedtime, and I liked how McGowan rolled out information about the characters‘ history as a friend group a little at a time. If you‘re in the mood for a fast-moving suspense novel, this is worth a read!
Trigger warning - rape
Twenty years after graduating from university, 6 friends get together for the weekend. The fun and games stop when a vicious attack occurs and one of the guys is accused of rape.
I pretty much hated every single character but yet I still wanted to know what happened.

20 years later 6 friends have a reunion. shocking events. Is Ali‘s friend or husband lying? book switches timelines - present to 1993. unputdownable. plot moves quickly. kept me guessing. shocking ending. excellent writer. characters well-drawn. recommend. thanks NetGalley & Amazon Publishers UK.
Wow. I am a pretty critical reader, and I am 100% hooked. I am surprised by how many so-so reviews and crits. I am wondering if a book being a free kindle read makes people more skeptical judges. What do you think??? Honest question. Looking forward to candid answers. Xo (pic is me and one of my daughters. Meant to be neutral. :))
This thriller was a bit hit or miss for me. The premise was really intriguing but there were aspects that just didn‘t work. Still very readable though! Full review on my blog now!

I received this e-arc through Netgalley. My review is my own honest opinion.
This book catches you from the beginning and you never guess the ending. It was a pretty good book.
Pros: Fast paced, interesting plot, a few twists and turns, Kindle sale purchase
Cons: Tried too hard to be politically correct, characters not fully developed, unlikeable narrator
Trigger warning: sexual assault

Ali gets her old college friends get together and then one of them is raped. Even worse, Karen says Ali‘s husband Mike did it. Secrets unfold, and relationships are tested. While it was predictable in places, it was well done enough to keep me reading. Plenty of tension between the characters, the backstory was revealed in flashbacks, and multiple narrators helped move things along. A fast and easy read.
4/5 ⭐️
This one kept me entertained. Parts were pretty predictable but finding one that isn‘t is rare. 🤷🏼♀️ I was interested in the moral dilemmas the main character dealt with and I thought she acted pretty realistically. #mystery #bfc #augustreads #suspense
Two more miles this morning. I might need to go on another walk this evening so I can finish this book! It‘s really starting to pick up. I tend to get more engrossed in audiobooks that I listen to while walking/running. I‘m able to focus on the story more without interruptions. #audiobook #mystery #bfc
