The lives of two women, generations apart, converge in this enthralling novel of love, mystery, memories, and secrets. Pregnant and still grieving the death of her fianc, historian Megan Buchanan is forging ahead on a dream project: to restore to its original glory the landmark hunting lodge her own great-great-grandfather built on Virginia's Eastern Shore. With the help of her fianc's caring best friend, it's sure to draw much-needed tourist revenue to Cape Hudson, a town rich in southern history. However, it's Spring House, the caretaker's cottage on the grounds, that holds the most intriguing history for Megan. In a cache of old letters, she's drawn into the captivating life of a young woman who embarked on her own dream adventure a century ago. With each one, Megan is swept away into her enthralling world--and all its secrets. But Megan has secrets too. Now, as one woman's past unfolds in each revealing letter, Megan will discover more about herself and about the emotional tides of family that can be weathered with those you love and trust the most.

Megan Buchanan is a historian working to help restore Winter Cottage Estate built by her great-great-grandfather. While staying at the caretaker's cottage, the discovery of old letters written long ago, she comes to know a young woman from another time, a young woman that has secrets to keep. As each letter is read, more of the past is revealed, and Megan is drawn deeper into the connection between past and present. A real treat of a story.

This marks my last #Booked2021 for winter! A #KindleUnlimited book with #BakedGoodsOnTheCover, I wish that this had been marketed as a follow-up to Winter Cottage. I hate feeling like I‘m missing out on important backstories! The family ties here get a bit convoluted too- I wish there‘d been a family tree! I tried listening first but the audio highlighted the stilted dialogue that does all the heavy lifting for plot momentum & development. #bujo

Cinfhen Annoying when they don‘t tell you it‘s part of a series 🤪 4y

🪁I love to see the flowers coming up & the return of the longer days.

Starting Spring House today. Kinda worried because it only has a 40% rating here. But I read Winter Cottage and it has some of the same characters, so well see how it goes.

⭐️⭐️A beautiful cover, but an awful book. The story has good bones, but between the painfully forced dialogue & slow as molasses plot—I struggled to finish this book. I was bored to tears. The unimpressive, cliche, over dramatic dialogue really annoyed me. I only finished it because I wanted to discover all the details of the Kincaid/Buchanan/Jessup Family mystery, which was the highlight of the novel.

Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks Beautiful cover though 🌸🌼🌺 5y

Enjoyed this lighter multiple-timeline story that had just enough questions to keep me reading! There could have been a deeper look into some of the storylines and a longer ending (it felt rushed) for a more complex book. But overall an interesting history and an engaging enough contemporary story to keep me reading!
