Anyone who follows me knows how much I love historical fiction. One of my absolute favorite era is WWII. I wouldn't say I'm a huge history buff, but I just love reading the fictional stories. This one kept my attention very well. From beginning to end, the characters are very well developed and continue to grow through the book.

I would recommend this book for anyone who loves old nurse stories, or WWII stories.

📚📚Happy Reading!📚📚

Pulled from my Mount TBR, I bought this one because I loved her previous book - Easter Island.
17 year old Juliet lies her way to the front lines during World War II because her brother has gone MIA. She gets wrapped up in her patients but also meets a soldier who may know where her brother is and a psychiatrist who is helping her to find him.

This book was promising and engaging in the beginning (that was why I recommended it - my apologies). It's about a sister who became a war nurse to look for her MIA soldier brother in Italy during the WWII. Halfway into the book, the main plot shifted focus and it became draggy, boring, and awfully slow pace. Personally, it was a disappointing read.

Not quite what I expected, but a compelling tale nonetheless.

My #currentread is this #historicalfiction in #WWII setting. So far so good!

keelymorgan I'm looking for more wwii fiction! Thoughts on this one? Would you recommend? 8y
thereadingowlvina This book is easy to read. It's about a sister looking for his brother who has been reported MIA. The only connection she has is a deserter named Barnaby, who is being treated for battle fatigue. I'd say it's rather a sad but sweet story. Yes, I'd recommend this book. I'm only halfway into it and so far it's good. 8y
