I liked this one a lot more than I thought I would. A trio of sisters flee Iran during the revolution to a small town in Ireland and open a cafe. They are faced with judgment and prejudice from some of the townspeople while others embrace their magical Persian dishes. Like the blurb on the cover says, this one reminded me a lot of Chocolat by Joanne Harris. A hearty pick.

Seven years after escaping the Iranian revolution, the Aminpour sisters settle down in Co Mayo, Ireland and open up The Babylon Café. There they slowly start to win over neighbors with their mysterious foods. But the past comes rushing back to endanger them and the lives they've built. I read this book 15 years ago and just found a long-lost recipe on an index card in the second book. Reading these books next for the #Asianreadathon

I've just returned from my literary weekend vacation around New England! What better time to post #boughtonvacation, I went a little overboard in museum stores and a local bookstore but I'm super excited about my book haul! #feistyfeb

booksandsympathy Pomegranate soup is a fantastic book! I haven't ever made any actual pomegranate soup though. 8y

Day4 #photoadaynov16 #setinasmalltown A favorite foodie novel set in the small Irish village of Ballinacroagh where the 3 Aminpour sisters open a Persian restaurant after fleeing Iran. Will their exotic spices & delicious food work their magic on customers used to eating boiled cabbage & potatoes & will they be able to make this small town their home? There are some fabulous recipes mixed into this magical story & an equally delicious follow-up.

Dragon I enjoyed Rosewater and Soda Bread so I have to add this one to my tbr . 😀 8y
LeahBergen I have the first one and haven't read it yet 😬 8y
