Lots of layered stories covering many generations all of which are compelling. They come together in a unique and satisfying way. Women‘s resilience and powers are as important as their vulnerability Very enjoyable

The Shore is a compilation of family members ' stories through generations just off the coast of Virginia. Each chapter is from a different decade.
I think this tacitly qualifies for the #bodiesofwater category of the #maybookflowers.
#upnext Anyone read this one? I was attracted to it precisely because of its nautical title, and really know nothing about it or the author
Books #onmynightstand that I hope to get to soonish. Plus an unspeakable number of books on my kindle.
One of my favorite books set in a small town (set of islands) off of Virginia. This book includes unwanted pregnancies, methamphetamine, murder, dark magic, and the place they all call home. It weaves together so many different stories and points of view that when you realize they are connecting you are in to deep to understand how you got there. I still think about the ending of this. #mindblown #smalltown #photoadaynov16
#booktober My only reread so far this year is Sara Taylor's The Shore. These interconnected short stories span centuries around a rural Oceanside town. They are very very raw and are hard to look away from. It's about poverty, drugs, a little magic, women. A favorite of all time and forever! @RealLifeReading
This is an outstanding collection of interconnected stories going back and forth through time as the planet is seemingly ending. Just absolutely brutal and beautiful. Perfect for fans of Margaret Atwood or David Mitchell. #Recommendsday
I really didn't get the hype of this book. Nearly every one of my book blogger friends gave it a five star rating but about three quarters of the way in it took a turn and it was all downhill from there. Maybe I missed something, I don't know. But, The Shore just didn't do it for me.
Great book with a beautiful cover. Highly recommend! And I found the perfect stony backdrop for it too I think...
