Once upon a time I had the perfect family. Then, as in all fairy tales, evil came into our lives Four years after Lauren Lawtons sixteen-year-old daughter disappeared, the world gave up the girl for dead. Laurens husband took his own life. Her younger daughter is looking only for whats left of her childhood. But Lauren never surrendered. She knows who took her child, and theres not a shred of evidence against him. Looking for a fresh start, Lauren and her younger daughter Leah move to idyllic Oak Knoll. So has Laurens suspect. And it feels that history is about to repeat itself. Leah is turning sixteen, and Oak Knoll has a cunning predator on the hunt. But as sheriffs detective Tony Mendez and his team sift through the circumstances of an increasingly disturbing case, a stunning question changes everything they thought they knew

I don't know if it's me. I love this author, but I'm finding books to be on the ok spectrum and not the awesome spectrum. Could be why I'm having a hard time picking up a book to read.
Still a soft pick for me

I‘m posting one book a day from my massive collection. No description, no reason for why I want to read it (some I‘ve had so long I don‘t even remember why!). Feel free to join in!

Excellent!! I had read the first two of the series a while back, but my library didn't have the third one so I had almost forgotten about it. And then I stumbled on a $5 copy at Sam's 👌🏽. So sinister, so eerie, and so twisty (my heart thumped SO hard when the big twist clicked in my head, always a good sign!). Tami Hoag sure knows how to keep you on the edge of your seat! 4.5⭐️

I won't read horror stories (or watch scary movies) #nightmares Hoag's novels freak me out enough, but not too much 😉 and this trilogy was good! #scarybooks #somethingforsept #septphotochallenge
