I wasn't sure how this was going to end seeing as it's the first half of the original book but it ended in a satisfactory way for me. Standard fantasy world campaign with young boys heading towards a great destiny and plenty of battles and obstacles in their way.

Goal this week is to hopefully finish the tagged which is Book 1 of the duology that makes up Magician. I would like to get farther into Hyperion but I think i may have to sneak the work book club title in (it's not really my genre so I may push it out a week)

I know I'm late posting but I am super excited about finishing In the Night Garden because it was taking me 5ever to finish. I did enjoy it though.

Had to swap out my commute audiobook this week because it was due back to the library so I'm hoping this week I'll finish the tagged. I've also begun the next book for ReadingWesteros and Hyperion. I don't need to finish a book this week just make good progress to be happy.

I wanted to like this more, as it‘s one of my husband‘s favorite books. It starts strong, with all the expected epic fantasy origin tropes. However, a journey occurs and that is where it goes off the rails for me. Also the ending was very weird - I know this is really 1 book split into two so I should really read the next book…eventually. 3⭐️

So many people have so much love for this book, but I've put this classic fantasy aside at 25%. I realised that I was just... bored. I found it very narrative, the characters were a little too perfect and there was no real conflict. I need shades of grey in my fantasy!

This was announced as a live action series adaptation last year. I wonder lf that's still a thing? 🤔

In the wake of success of Game of Thrones (regardless of how you felt about the last few seasons) studios are clamouring to gather as many fantasy book to show/movie adaptations as they can. It'll be interesting to see which ones actually get made.

My fingers are 🤞 for this one!

I enjoyed the story and characters. This edition is the Authors preferred edition and at no point did I find anything unnecessary or boring. I guess we'll see if that changes in the next book. However I have it a 4 star because the Tsurani irritated me, if they are so desperate for metals why not just set up trade with the Kingdoms instead of starting a war over it.

Well I ended up having to buy the kindle version of this one because YOU GUYS my library copy was STICKY 😝. I'm talking about the kind of sticky that you can still make your fingers stick together 5 minutes later. I tried everything to get it off but it just would not go away. So I ponied up the 10 bucks and bought myself the book. I swear I don't know what people do with their library books sometimes.

I'm starting my #freakyfriday a bit early. I can't renew interlibrary loans so I'm going to try and get through these before they're due back.

This one is first up because it's the longest and it'll be easier to knock out the other two quickly if I'm down to the wire.

I was looking for a new book and found this in a list of great fantasy and it was at my local library. I really enjoyed this book and will look for the rest of the series at my library.
