Oh wow.
So I recently got a collection of Roald Dahl‘s works and wanted to start making my way through them. This one was certainly written with no PC in mind. Maybe the times, but it‘s a story of a man who gets his neighbor to fall in love with him by impressing her with changing the weight of her pet turtle. As an adult, too much thought and the book is distrubing, but may be okay for kids for a silly story.

That was pretty silly. I don‘t like that he lied to get her interested in him. And that she didn‘t notice that it wasn‘t the same turtle...
Our quick little bedtime read last night ,
Cheeky Mr Hoppy has a clever idea to win the affections of his neighbour involving lots and lots of tortoise 🐢

Love Roald Dahl ❤️
My next read for the kids at bedtime. I love Roald Dahl books, can't remember this one as much from reading it as a kid 🐢
After the past Dahl books that I‘ve enjoyed very much, I‘m so disappointed with this! In the beginning I thought it‘s a sweet love story, but then hey, what messages/morals are being delivered here to the children? Mr Hoppy may be clever with his plans but I don‘t like how he duped Mrs Silver. He may be a shy man in love but there‘s no forgiveness for his deceit and lies. And poor Alfie, Mrs Silver‘s tortoise. #unpopularopinion

When all the books you are reading seem to be 500 to 1000 pages ,you need a short classic to make you smile that you can finish in one sitting!Dahl always makes me smile.
Finished another classic with the little dude last night (night 686)
I know it‘s not the book but this movie made my day and I‘m glad they made it into a movie
The festival is Libr@ria, in Venaria Reale, Italy. The local library put its old books destined to be thrown away up for "adoption".
A little child rummaged through the old books, excited and enchanted. She found a copy of Roald Dahl's Esio Trot and she sat right there on the ground reading it. Her copy of Matilda had been read so often that it was completely falling apart.
I hope you'll get to have a fun adventure, little aspiring Matilda. ?❤
I read ESIO TROT with a kid last week. Aside from it being a super weird story, I spotted these words in it.
