Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season 9 Volume 2: On Your Own
Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season 9 Volume 2: On Your Own | Andrew Chambliss
7 posts | 8 read | 2 to read
With the Scooby gang on the skids, Buffy finds herself increasingly alone. When faced with some tough decisions grounded in "real world" problems (i.e., not the slaying of pesky demons), Buffy is determined to make her own choices, but that doesn't mean she won't need a little handholding along the way. Cue Spike, compelled to stand by his best friend in her moment of need. Together they'll tackle the increasing zompire population and a rogue Slayer out for blood. Collects "Buffy" Season 9 #6 #10; and "Buffy the Vampire Slayer: In Space No One Can Hear You Slay!" from "Free Comic Book Day 2012.""

3.5 ⭐? The gang is all together again, including Spike and Dawn, which I am happy about! I really couldn't care less about this Billy kid though.

I thought I was all ready to read season 10 vol 1 of Buffy, but quickly realized due to my confusion that I actually hadn't read the last vol of season 9! Luckily one of the two library branches within walking distance of my house had it on the shelves so I just went and grabbed it and here I am! #LitsyLovesLibraries

Into it! As much as I don't really like Xander, this plotline about Dawn and him adjusting to a non-magical life and dealing with being the one always watching but never acting is drawing me in. Plus, Buffy's roomie is a secret Slayer! Illyria shows up! Willow's back! And Severin is an interesting villain.

tonyahoswalt I'm glad you stuck with it past season 8. :) 7y

This was great! It totally felt like I was back watching the show at its best. The Buffy bot! Spuffy feels! Nikki, 70s NYC Slayer! Buffy fighting herself! Real world problems mixed with paranormal Slayer problems! There was nothing about this I did not love, except 1) some hints of Xander being a jackass to Dawn?? 2) continuing art that could be better (although to be fair I didn't have trouble telling anyone apart this volume).

Well that's an alternative #Spuffy universe if there ever was one.

I really enjoyed this Buffy graphic novel. Find action was great and I liked the story. I really want to read the next one but I had to get it from a far away library so no telling when it will arrive.

wingedsnails Does your library have any ebook checkout options? There's a bunch of graphic novels available on the apps my library uses, so that might be an option! 8y
ReadingSusan @wingedsnails yes but they do not have any Buffy unfortunately. 8y

I can't believe yesterday was the 20th anniversary of Buffy. It's crazy to me! I will read this graphic novel today in celebration. Also, I love the Dusted podcast. It's one of the best Buffy podcasts out there. It's very in depth with critical analysis and very funny. #buffy #buffyanniversary #buffythevampireslayer #btvs

Stephykitten Didn't know this podcast existed! Thank you!! 8y
ReadingSusan @Stephykitten it's so good. I love it so much. They had a host change this year that was sad but I still love listening to the analysis. It's just so smart and well thought out and they aren't afraid to bring constructive criticism. 8y
