The Breakfast Club meets We Need to Talk About Kevin A lockdown catches five grade 12 students by surprise and throws them together in the only unlocked room on that empty third floor wing: the boys' washroom. They sit in silence, judging each other by what they see, by the stories they've heard over the years. Stuck here with them--could anything be worse? There's Alice: an introverted writer, trapped in the role of big sister to her older autistic brother, Noah. Isabelle: the popular, high-achieving, student council president, whose greatest performance is her everyday life. Hogan: an ex-football player with a troubled past and a hopeless future. Xander: that socially awkward guy hiding behind the camera, whose candid pictures of school life, especially those of Isabelle, have brought him more trouble than answers. Told in five unique voices through prose, poetry, text messages, journals, and homework assignments, each student reveals pieces of their true story as they wait for the drill to end. But this modern-day Breakfast Club takes a twist when Isabelle gets a text that changes everything: NOT A DRILL!! Shooter in the school! Suddenly, the bathroom doesn't seem so safe anymore. Especially when they learn that one of them knows more about the shooter than they realized...

I‘ve read a bit more of shooter now and there hasn‘t been much that has happened. It‘s mainly been backstorys.

Cfischbuch Thanks for the update. Stick with it for a bit more. 5y
MrsBabki Great talking to you the other day! Way to persevere. Something major has to be coming. 5y

I‘ve been reading this book for a little while now and it‘s a really good book. It‘s about this girl that right as the school went into look down she tripped and fell and hit her head. When she woke up she couldn‘t remember anything till the other people in the boys bathroom told her what happened. It was just her two other boys and the most popular girl in the school.

Cfischbuch This is one I should be adding to my stack, we‘ve had a lot of students try it this year. Let me know what you think when you‘ve finished. 5y
MrsBabki I‘ve wondered about this one too. I need to try it out. 5y

This book is from what I‘ve heard is this is an action book. I haven‘t completed it but so far the main part hasn‘t happened yet but I think it has potential. If you like books about people stuck in situations they don‘t know how to get out of then you will love this book. Overall I will keep reading it but I think it has potential. But this book is about a lockdown with kids stuck in a bathroom and later they find out it may be a shooter. #3

MissYaremcio Great job Will! I would make sure you read over your reviews before posting as I do see repetitive sentences in it! 5y

A seemingly normal lock down drill happeneds, five students hide in the boys washroom. But the longer the lockdown lasts, they realize that this isn't a drill. And something's going on.

I really liked shooter, and I would recommend it to people who like realistic-fiction and suspension full books there thing. It really does get you on the edge of your seats sometimes. Though at times it can be really slow, but it's worth reading it to the end.

MissYaremcio Great review Anabelle! This one is on my to-read list for sure! 5y

This book was pretty decent. It instead of really looking at a shooter it looks more into the drama and life of highschool students. It has pretty slow pacing and only really picks up near the end. The characters revealing there past is very well written.
This book is about 4 highschool students stuck in a washroom for lockdown and soon they realize it's not a drill. I would recommend this book to people that like highschool dramas.

MissYaremcio Great review Tristan! Keep up the great work! 5y

#2 Litsy post. Shooter is about a group of different kids stuck in a men‘s bathroom during a REAL lockdown. While they are in the bathroom most of them share their perspectives and their personal story. If you like books that introduce all of the kids perspective this is the book for you. The book was quite a page turner I never wanted to put it away.

MissYaremcio This book is on my to read pile! I am even more exited by your review! Great work! 5y

I read this during my flight home before the new year. The plot and the characters were amazing and deep. Every character was well rounded and progressed throughout the book realistically. I would definitely recommend this book.

Really well written young adult book from the perspective of 5 very different teens. Captivating with a realistic twist. I would highly recommend this book.
