I didn't make it to any stores today but finished the Charlotte bookcrawl earlier this month, hitting all 19 stores! Here's my #bookhaul with the cute mini tote that was the finishing prize! 💕
It‘s Independent Bookstore Day! I left Park Road Books with full arms and a full heart. I love my indie booksellers so much and it‘s been ages since I‘ve been in there. 💖 Lots of cozy fantasy and mythology retelling recommendations today.
Today‘s #bookstoremath sponsored by Sally at Park Road Books. I went in for one book (Kushnameh) and left with three. 🤦🏻♀️ Sally knows I‘m an easy mark. 😂😂
There is nothing I love more than a good #bookhaul from an independent bookstore. 😍 East of Houndslow and A Spy in the Struggle are recent MyTBR recommendations, Then the Fish Swallowed Him is a potential pick for #readingasia #iran (I can‘t resist a good title!), and While Justice Sleeps is written by Stacey Abrams and that speaks for itself. 🤩 Oh, and Vinland Saga was my first (and still favorite) manga, so it‘s onto Book Three for me.
Braved the rain for #IndependentBookstoreDay, one of my favorite days of the year. Now, off to read for the rest of this gray, rainy day.

It‘s been a while since I just wandered at my indie bookstore. I went to pick up Amanda Gorman‘s poem, which I ordered earlier this week. Naturally, I found a couple other books that insisted on coming home with me. Who am I to say no? (Also, how beautiful is this weather? Not a cloud in the sky!)
#bookhaul My preorders for The Bladebone and Tristan Strong Destroys the World arrived at my local indie, so I picked them up after work today. I also grabbed Untamed by Glennon Doyle because a sorority sister tagged me in Glendon‘s We Can Do Hard Things posts with small ways to leave it all on the field this election cycle, to fight for the soul of this country and its people, and I was inspired to read her book. 💖
My work bonus arrived. Originally, I had planned to put funds aside for April‘s independent bookstore day. However, with events being canceled everywhere, including book signings, while people try to #flattenthecurve on COVID-19, I wanted to support my local indie now. I tried not to go overboard, and sadly there were three or four other books that I forgot. 🤦🏻♀️🤣🤣 I‘m excited for these to arrive, though.

Apparently, @dsfisher and I have decided to make #booksinabox a #smallbusinesssaturday at #Parkroadbooks a tradition. Last year was the first time I‘d ever bought so many books at one time that I needed a box to carry the purchases home. We may have exceeded last year‘s stack. 😆😆 (actual haul in next post)
