It‘s embarrassing when the book club pick is yours & you STILL slide in on the due date with your entry.🤷🏻‍♀️However the Cheese Tortellini Alfredo Soup was worth the wait. It was inspired by one of the essays on food, cooking & comfort by notable writers. A great book to dip in & out of all month. Not every essay was a winner but they all were interesting glimpses on how people use the kitchen as solace. Link to more of my review & the recipe⬇️

I found this collection in #hoopla - tiny little personal stories of food and comfort. Spoiler alert - it is rarely fancy food. This isn't a cookbook although some of the essays include recipes (one is for just-add-water brownies.) It was good for my mood!

Nute I came across this book in the bookstore and was immediately captivated by the title. I bought it on the spot! 4y

Read these essays over the last couple of months and really enjoyed them. COVID-19 makes the comfort of food and eating with family more meaningful, sometimes the highlight of the day lol. Anyway, these short essays include recipes and include many favorite writers like Anthony Doerr, Edwidge Danticat and Colum McCann.

5/5🌟 I loved this essay collection! It was so interesting to read these authors stories in connection with food and memories. It made me think of memories I have associated with food and people. I even tried a few of the recipes that were included with each story. So much warmth and comfort emmitted from this book. Highly recommend checking it out! #bookreview #bookreviewer #essays

I really enjoy food memoirs so this was a fun read for me. This book has a bunch of short stories by various authors on a moment in their life where food played an important role. Also included at the end of each story is a related recipe. 🥞🌶🧀🌮

Have you ever received a book you just couldn‘t resist opening immediately? That‘s me with this one. I‘m enjoying it with lemon pepper hummus from Asheville, baby carrots, red grapes, and tea. #nfnov

BookNAround @jillrhudy It‘s so appealing, right? I read the first essay by Diana Abu-Jaber with lunch and enjoyed it. Looking forward to the rest of them too. 5y
