This question led me down quite the rabbit hole as I immediately wondered what my first book reviewed here was - so yes, I scrolled all the way back to May 2019 to find out the answer 😂 I also found my first post & was struck anew by the friendliness of @Chello @Nute & @RaimeyGallant who ⬇
Overall around a 3.5* read for me. A lot to enjoy - good pacing, intriguing characters, some twists. However, few things annoy me more than being told that a detective (or similar character) has information that is vital to the mystery, but me not getting to know it, and that happened in this book a LOT. It would be something like “He realized something about the splatter pattern that changed everything“ - but I don't get to know for chapters!
I really enjoy Margolin's books, but he has a habit of introducing so many characters that I end up using my bookmark to take notes!
