Finished Deep Inside #audio Harrowing police procedural- someone is taking justice into their own hands & brutally murdering men who have a history of violence & abuse against women.More violent descriptions than I usually read( listen to) but this was so compelling I stayed with it. Triggers: domestic violence, rape, vicious murder. Nothing is inferred or hinted at; graphic
The other book is a #cozy set in Cape Cod- my special place!

Making progress with the #Whodunitathon Readathon.

Now completed 2/3 of stage one. Have a setting, Minneapolis and the Detective‘s sidekick, a sardonic Doctor, now I just need a detective! 🕵️‍♂️

Earned 50 points for this completed book in the Readathon, took me just over 5 hours to finish the book.

Wasn‘t sure whether to go with so-so or pick. It was well written but was quite tough reading at times due to the domestic abuse which is a the central feature of this book. 😡 How can we still allow this to go on! My heart goes out to everyone where this is a reality. I will progress with the series but do hope the next book doesn‘t have the same theme.

Tove_Reads Halfway through the second and it‘s different. The first one was dark. I think it‘s important that these things are written about, because then it‘s talked about, but this one was raw. Hard to read at times since it‘s so dark. 4y

Tove_Reads Just finished the second one. It‘s still dark, focuses on Raven. Building on the first book, sans the domestic violence. Had a few slower parts, so could have been a bit shorter. Otherwise a great read, and ends on a cliffhanger. 4y

Clwojick My husband seen me setting up my spreadsheets on GoogleSheets and he‘s like “Uh oh, it‘s the month of the Nerdy Cassandra!” 😂😂😂 I‘ll literally gush over all my trackers, and as a non-reader I‘m sure he could care less. He always “oooohs” and “ahhhhhs” for my happiness though. 🥰 4y

Not an easy read--because of the subject matter, the realism of the characters and circumstances. This isn't a larger-than-life genius serial killer--it's the everyday reality for too many. Just tinged with a spree killer making a grim circumstance worse for some. It's a gripping read, a clever whodunit, with characters that might be those you meet every day.
