🩵 I love how my bestie and I fall into our old rhythms so easily.
🩵 Went thrifting with my bestie and scored The Complete Poems and Plays of TS Eliot for $2
🩵 GOOD TROUBLE
🩵 I'm so grateful for the litsy community. Y'all are so supportive and smart and amazing!
🩵 I'm grateful to myself this week for recognizing my limits AND taking steps to make sure I take time to rest. It's hard for me, and I'm proud of myself.

ChaoticMissAdventures Resting is so hard. I went back to my therapist last month to have her help me. In this climate? Who is able?!? I hope you are successful in your steps to rest. 2w

Pickpick

At one point, I thought that Eliot may be the best poet of the twentieth century. After re-reading this text, I am still of the same mind. Of course, I tend to not think greatly of the verse dramas.

Those who have crossed
With direct eyes, to death‘s other #Kingdom
Remember us- if at all - not as lost
Violent souls, but only
As the hollow men
The stuffed men.

#PoetryMatters #Home ❤️❤️❤️... Here and there does not matter. We must be still and still moving Into another intensity For a further union, a deeper communion Through the dark cold and the empty desolation, The wave cry , the wind cry , the vast waters of the petrel and the porpoise. In my end is my beginning.

TrishB Well......that‘s beautiful 💕 7y

merelybookish Amazing! I forget how much I love Eliot. I don't know why. (Well maybe because the Eliot expert in my grad department was a pig. Obviously need to break that association.) 7y

#quotsyapril18 #Laughter Hysteria
As she laughed I was aware of becoming involved in her laughter and being part of it....an elderly waiter saying ... “
if the lady & gentleman wish to take their tea in the garden.. “
I decided that if the shaking of her breasts could be stopped, some of the fragments of the afternoon might be collected....

❤️T S Eliot 1917

#QuotsyFeb #cat @TK-421 .

The Rum Tum Tugger doesn‘t care for a cuddle; But he‘ll leap on your lap in the middle of your sewing, For there‘s nothing he enjoys like a horrible muddle. Yes the rum tum tugger is a curious cat - and there isn‘t any need for me to spout it:
For he will do
As he do do
And there‘s no doing anything about it.

Cathythoughts @scripturient get them to recite Prufrock. That sealed the deal for me 💫outloud, The spoken word ! Hard to forget. Even if they pretend not to be interested, they will remember Prufrock 😉 (edited) 8y
scripturient @Cathythoughts I teach Prufrock in my Survey of British Lit class but they are so intimidated by the intertextuality and the form in general that it‘s hard to motivate them. 😕 8y
