this is a DNF for me. Too much like listening to current day politicians argue over each other, no one hearing the other.

Even the author's note was so so arrogant... Definitely DNF for me...
DNF. This story could be good. It could be really good. Unfortunately, it's littered with overused curse words that serve no real purpose (not just in dialogue, but even in the narration) and something about the author's writing is just plain arrogant.

Sarah, this was a perfect staycation box! I‘m in love with everything!!! The candles, Journal (🎉❤️🙌) OMG!! The vegan snack- seriously I‘m so excited and grateful!!! The books you chose! The paper clip, soap and coffee! Thank you so much!!! #staycationintimeswap
I don't know if it's just my head space atm but this has to be a dnf for the simple reason that I could not keep some of the characters separate in my mind.

The view from my back porch. It a beautiful day for reading outside! #nottinghambook #nathanmakaryk #forgebooks
After finally finishing this chunkster, I have mixed views about it. It‘s yet another retelling of Robin Hood that veers off the beaten path of the others...a mix of factual myth (is there such a thing?!) and pure fiction. While characters are recognizable, their actions and motivations are often totally not.
It was an entertaining, often humorous romp, but at almost 500 pages, I think it could have been tightened up a bit. ⬇️
Definite PICK!
Epic adventure of Robin Hood, but with violence, betrayal, and shifting loyalties.
Makaryk explores many points of view with the characters, and no one is 100% good or 100% bad.
I was drawn in and absorbed into this story. Loved it.
Am heading out of town for a few days tomorrow to celebrate my mom‘s birthday (born on the Fourth of July!) and thought I‘d take along this chunkster for any downtime.
For those Littens celebrating birthdays Thursday-Saturday, I‘ll wish you an early Happy Birthday (as cell coverage at my folks‘ is spotty). Wishing you all a day that‘s exactly how you wish it to be! 🎉🎂🎈📚😊

I must admit I was a little confused at first when I opened my #bookmail today from #BookishFirst and @bookbrag (#MacmillanPublishing)...thanks so much to both!!!
It appeared by looking at the cover that I had received an ARC about politics (which I don‘t read). However in checking the spine of this #chunkster (492 pages), I discovered that it‘s the latest adventures of our daring hero Robin Hood! New cover (right, on Amazon) and book out 8/6.
w00t! I won! I can‘t wait to read this Robin Hood retelling.
Has anyone else read it?
