Beautiful Indigenous art brings this story to life. Not chilling but certainly hauntingly beautiful! Day 9 - Raven #chillingcoverchallenge

I would read this to 2nd and 3rd graders. Its a simple story but a great one for older kids. The boy turns into a raven which be very entertaining for these kids.

This book is traditional literature. I really liked this book. It shows the life a raven. The raven would watch people and wanted to get closer to them. Raven was born into a boy. The plot in this book is very simple. The raven makes the story very simple and get to the point of what happened.

This Caldecott winning book is a tale from the Pacific Northwest. It is about how the raven stole the sun and gave it to all the people. This book is great for cultural diversity.

It‘s about a raven who wants to bring back light. He becomes a pine needle and stem by a girl that give birth to him and he was reincarnated into a baby. Then he wanted a box with the sun in it and turned back into a raven.

I had to think about this one for a while. The raven myth is a beautiful piece of folklore, but it belongs to the Pacific Northwest tribes, of which this author is not a member. The illustrations are well-done, with a contrast between the bold raven and the muted background. Review continued in comments.

Krisjericho My main concern comes with the fact that this story does not distinguish between the different tribes that have variations of this story as a part of their culture, but just kind of mixes it into one general tale. There is also little credit given to the origin of the tale. This is a story understands the importance of the myth part of the story, but not the sensitivity and nuance it requires. 6y

Because all the cool kids are doing it. I found the available answers difficult because most did not fit my responses. This said, I completely agree with the result. Raven is one of my favourite Tricksters. Which does not explain why that central part of Raven's character is not mentioned in the quiz's blurb. Mmmm.

Raven a Trickster Tale is a Caldecott Award winner traditional picture book I will use for guided reading. This is a story about a Raven who turns into a little boy when the whole entire world goes dark. The raven becomes a boy to find the sun again. I will use UDL 7.2 optimize relevance, value, and authenticity. I will also use ESOL 6 monitor students comprehension.

ChristinB I have found this website https://www.crayola.com/lesson-plans/raven-the-trickster-puppet-tales-lesson-pla... so students too can make their own Raven. #UCFLAE3414F17 7y
