This book can be described in one word: Brutal.

I wasn't sure what to expect when I picked this up but I don't think any of THAT crossed my mind. I've read a lot of WWII historical fiction but this was my first with a child spy and it was definitely interesting, if a little hard to read at times.

I'll definitely grab the sequel

Breakfast of Champions 🤣🤣🤣

A gripping page-turner, with some truly brutal moments - they made it all the more believable, and I'm glad it wasn't sugar coated for a younger audience. Fantastic main character, and an interesting/unique perspective on WW2.
Plus the UK cover is GORGEOUS 😍 !!

An interesting cover change.

I was skeptical of this book because the name is awful. I was extremely surprised and found myself engrossed in the story. It read like a short story even though it is over four hundred pages long. I will definitely be on the lookout for Matt Killeen‘s name in the future. I definitely recommend this book!

Huh, that wasn't what I was expecting but quite interesting. A lot of topics touched on and I actually really appreciated the authors note!

I‘m visiting a friend in London and discovered that her building‘s rooftop patio is the perfect little area for reading (especially during this heatwave)! Where are you current favourite reading places?

This book was a quick read for myself. Maybe because I only had four days to read it before it was due back at the library? But very intense at times, almost never a dull moment. Takes place in Nazi Germany, tells of the struggles faced by this 15 year old. After seeing her mother shot right in front of her, she has no choice but to keep moving forward. Really great book!

Action from the start! I enjoyed the characters and read this rather quickly.

Not what I was expecting, so I‘m not sure if this is a pick or a so-so. I think this is another one that would make a good movie.

Going to Ikea for more bookshelves means I GOT TO HIT THE CHAPTERS TOO! I miss living in a town with an actual bookstore every time I take a trip to Edmonton

This is an excellent book, a MUST-READ. It was such an exhilarating read and a book that really is so different from anything else in the YA genre right now; I read this in its entirety during one day of the '24in48' Readathon this weekend, I absolutely couldn't put it down. A Jewish girl posing as a Nazi elite and acting as a spy...✊🏼 Phew!
