This short story got swallowed by how unnecessarily convoluted it was. It tried to tackle too much all at once and toppled over from the weight of it all. I don‘t recommend.

TieDyeDude Thanks for the review. I feel like Amazon original stories are a lot like Netflix original movies; it seems the confidence isn\'t there for a \“traditional\“ release, so the end result is a crapshoot 1mo

An awesome short novella from Lisa Unger that had me reading it without putting it down.It was such an atmospheric read, even more than I was expecting for a short novella. This book definitely packed a punch way above its weight.I was hooked on the seedy, motel on the side of the road. With no other guest but a very obliging hotel owner when you are on the run from the police and a boyfriend, sometimes you seek shelter wherever you can.Creepy⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Mehso-so

Eve, traveling alone, running from someone, stops at a motel to rest for the night. She is the only gust. A single man runs the hotel. Eve hears strange noises at night, indicating there is at least one other guest, but no evidence is found. Something is definitely amiss… I liked the story well enough. The ending was confusing with a rapid switch to Eve at the motel and the event that led Eve to flee. I didn‘t really care for the confusion. 👻

⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐

Oooh this was even better than the first book in the series! I never for even a moment suspected that ending until it was happening. So good, but then I wouldn't expect anything less from Lisa Unger!

Well if that isn't the truth I don't know what is. 👏

Mehso-so

This short story was well-written, but predictable. In the last year, I've read two stories with either a similar beginning or a similar ending. I didn't find it creepy either. Kind of a “meh“ for me.

monkeygirlsmama I'm with you in that I didn't really find there to be anything creepy about this story, but I loved the way she wrote it. To me it held an air of suspense and the ending was totally not something I was expecting. 4y
