It was fine.
This book is all catchy dialogue and sun-kissed imagery. Nothing could be more appropriate in the dog days of summer. One minute, you will feel like you are in the sand at the beach, the next, you will remember exactly how this summer felt when you seemed nowhere near adulthood.....

I selected this title on a whim... Initially I thought it was mildly interesting, but in truth I thought about DNFing it. It wasn't that it wasn't good; it just wasn't engaging me. I was, however, listening to the #audiobook version and I was quite enjoying the narrator. So I kept listening, and before you know it i was at the end. Turns out, I'm glad I didn't DNF it and I'm actually looking forward to picking up the subsequent titles.

I think my book was misprinted somehow. I happened to flip through the book and noticed part of the book got cut off or something 😳😱.
Edit:the rest of the book looks a kids activity book

I'm sailing through this YA romance. It's pretty cute and reminds me of my summers I spent in Maine as a kid, although I didn't have cute neighbor boys to fawn over. 😂
Thank you to everyone for all the well-wishing on the last post. I got a pretty strong dose of Prednisone and a nebulizer. That paired with 4 days of resting & eating clean seemed to curb this lupus flare. I'm learning what it means to manage this one day at a time. 💜
Ms. Han,
I said I was going to read you last year and the year before that but time and other books just kept getting in the way but now…I‘ve been challenged to finish it by next week! Scholar: I bet you won‘t. Me: Watch and learn young grass hopper!
Great on audible. The narrator took some getting used to.

I am a fan of YA romances, and I kind of loved the series on Prime so o read the book. They literally have different endings. I actually preferred the show this time. Very rare.
Belly felt likable and realistic. I could relate to her life as an only girl in the group.
This was really perfect summer read but could have been a bit lighter. I prefer summer books that feel cozy.
I might have had a bit too high expectations for this book. I was surprised how little there happened and I wasn't intrigued to read more.
This wasn't a book for me but at the same time I appreciate how realistic this felt.

My amazing bf got me this series and I couldn‘t resist starting it today. So far, so good! 😊
I guess I need to move this up my TBR, especially since my scholars are reading this in one sitting.
The shadows are me and my husband on our honeymoon in 2021
Read it because I loved the show love it so emotional
2 years since Amethyst now for those of you who don't know she was my baby I lost through ruptured ectopic pregnancy and almost died.... The summer I turned pretty fanfic I was reading earlier same thing happened in it was like reliving it all over again
So I don't understand why people are saying Conrad left Belly was it different in the books? What I remember is she left him instead of being there for him when he was loosing his mom...
I'm sure I would be more rabid about this series if I weren't twice Belly's age, but I get the praise! The drama was delicious, and the characters were realistic depictions of teens. I really felt for Laurel and Beck most of all! Because I'm OLD. #yalit #yaromance
How does book compare to the show??? Are the books any good?
My niece picked this audiobook for our annual drive bringing her home after a week visiting with us—a reread for her, and she‘s been rewatching the adaptation too, starring Lola Tung whose narration here is exceptional! I was surprised by how literary this young adult romance is—wistful, bittersweet nostalgia just permeates every page, with complex characters. It‘s pretty quiet and slow moving for YA and yet kept the whole car riveted for 6 hours.
This is my second read through. I started the Amazon series last year when I needed something to watch for an plane trip. I realized after the fact that it was a series. The book was better the second time through. I read it in 2 days. It‘s youthful and hopeful and reminds you of human emotions that can be forgotten in the seriousness of adulthood.
This was a fun carefree summer book that I really enjoyed reading and I was able to read it pretty fast. I‘ve wanted to read this series since the show came out but the wait for the books at the library was always too long. I‘m glad I got to read it finally. I must say it did not feel like a romance at all. Some parts felt forced, like the love triangle was lowkey just thrown in there. But still fun and the end had me crying
