I've created a bookclub on SG to keep things organized if anyone wants to join - https://app.thestorygraph.com/book_clubs/158fd0c1-ae91-45ee-b40c-6ab2f39d101f
I just want to see which books rate highly
I'm excited to get back into this universe and I'm hoping for more Percy 😅
I am reading this series aloud to my kiddos and we are LOVING them. Big long books which is actually great. They‘re full and we love the multiple pov. As we are currently midway through book 3, I would say this one is slightly slower than the others? But still, love it. Great to have percy back in this one too.
Incredible book with great characters.

Two down three to go! This series is so much longer than the original 😆 it almost should have been ten books (aka my adhd/dyslexia adjacent brain has a much harder time with this size of book)
I do love them all so though, little Hazel and Frank, the kindest child Mars/Aries has ever had, and of course the hero himself Percy Jackson. I‘ve missed this lot these last couple years. I‘m really enjoying spending time with them again.
The Son of Neptune by Rick Riordan is an exhilarating adventure that sweeps you into the mythical world of demigods. Riordan's storytelling prowess shines as Percy Jackson navigates new challenges, battles ancient enemies, and uncovers his true identity. With epic battles, witty humor, and unforgettable characters, this book is a must-read for all book lovers craving an adrenaline-filled escape. #SonOfNeptune #RickRiordan #Demigods
I‘m doing my internship for English at a school rn and it‘s extremely overwhelming, loud and stressful. I‘m also dragging myself through HoO, a series I started ten years ago and now finally want to finish. It‘s difficult b/c I find 3 of the 7 insufferable, the plot is clumsy and the books are way too long.

Unabridged Audiobook (10/10):
Much like the other novels set in the Camp Half-Blood Chronicles, Rick Riordan captures a sense of genuine respect for the characters fans have come to love, traditional mythology, and the truest sense of moral fortitude. Bringing Percy Jackson back in this story is so brilliant and I love how we get to see snippets of his Greek life shine through his time with the Romans.
Can‘t wait to see where the story goes next!
Great story. Quick read as I couldn‘t put it down. As this is the 2nd book of 5 in the series it is fun that the storyline is developing. I look forward to reading the other stories. I plan to keep reading without much delay.
⭐⭐⭐⭐
Percy Jackson, I really missed you!! This book was like meeting with an old friend after a long time apart 💟 I loved the new camp and its rules..
Can't wait to see all these new characters come togheter!!!
This was my least favorite book from the Heroes of Olympus series but after listening to the audiobook, I was properly able to love it. It gave me a whole new perspective on all the characters. If you haven‘t listened to this book is audio, you really should.
I greatly enjoyed reading the second part of this series and am looking forward to the next one. This book introduced more new characters that I adore and taught me more about the Roman gods. Overall, a great read! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
My friend Percy is back! I enjoyed greatly learning about the Roman gods and the Roman military. Hazel and Frank were cute too, but Percy remains my favorite. I would have liked to read more chapters from his point of view, although I liked that those occured more when he got his memory back. Franks special power was also nice to learn about. Also, I will protect Ella with my life, and would like to meet Iris. She seems cool!
I‘ve been in a bit of a reading slump and I wasn‘t loving the first bit of this book. I liked learning about a new setting and group of people but there was a camp games type event that went on a bit too long for me. After that, though, the action really took off and I was invested. I think Riordan does a great job and slowly introducing more aspects of the characters‘ personalities...

Bingo! #wintergames #wintergames2020 #teamreadnosedreindeer @StayCurious I can't remember how much bingos are worth though lol
These are always fun and easy reads. I enjoyed the historical elements of this as well as uncovering the characters' secrets along with them. It was nice to get back to Percy, but I missed the characters from the last book
I prefer reading about Percy it seems since I enjoyed this one more that the first. On to a new force looking to destroy the half bloods. We learn about Camp Jupiter a Roman military camp that could be the key to defeating this new enemy.
In this installment, we get some answers that tie in nicely to Jason Grace's mystery. Also, Alaska. Another fun road trip quest.
(quarantine book #100; read a book featuring an adventure/journey)
I am loving this series. This book switched to what felt like a whole new world - camp Jupiter. But with some familiar faces.
“Ella will find libraries instead. Doesn‘t like Amazons.”
Oh Uncle Rick, always ready with the slightly-subtler-than-dad-jokes. 😏
Moving on to book 2. This is the most time I‘ve let myself spend *just reading* — not reading for school and taking notes/prepping for a writing assignment, not listening to an audiobook while driving or cooking or cleaning — in who even knows how long. Grateful for my perfect reading nook on my porch, and Rick Riordan, and green and growing things. 🌱 🌺 📖 📚
This is sort of the parallel story to the first book, showing what Percy Jackson has been up to while he's been missing. Percy has to go on a quest with some members of the other demigod camp in order to battle the giants, who are planning an attack. 4⭐
Old and new faces!
Gaia!
Another fun read with Percy and friends
A day late and a dollar short, but here it is.
1. I used to be functional in Spanish but am out of practice, so one. I know tourist lingo in several, though
2. Tagged
3. Six or more? Salad and sandwich
4. 😆💗😁
5. If anyone hasn‘t played yet, tag!
Thanks for the tag @DaveGreen7777

I started this series at the end of 2019 and binged a couple more books. Solid storyline. #2020read
Another good one from Riordan! Second in the Heroes of Olympus series we meet our old friend Percy as he embarks on a quest with two Roman demigods, each with a secret. Epic hi-jinx ensue.
Book two of the year, first one down for #JumpStart2020. Now what to choose next...
Well, I thought the tagged book would be either my last of 2019 or my first of 2020, but it was neither. I‘m still working on it (life got in the way today). Instead, last finished was Aphrodite the Beauty, in the MG Goddess Girls series (required reading from the kiddo) and first finished this year was The Spider Sapphire Mystery read-aloud with the kiddo. It wasn‘t a great start! 😬

Happy New Year! With today‘s time I got about 25 hours 33 minutes in #24B42020 - less than I‘d hoped but better than expected. I wanted to finish one more book (tagged) but I picked more than I could bite off. Plus reading 2/3 of a Nancy Drew to the kiddo today, then we watched a movie while waiting for fireworks to wind down; it all cut into my reading. Guess I‘ll finish this for my first read of 2020!

My family and I bought the whole “Heroes of Olympus“ collection when it was on sale, and now I'm finally getting around to reading it.
400 pgs
Percy is confused. He wakes up from a long sleep and didn't know anything besides his name. He somehow makes it to another camp of half-bloods. The only thing he can recall from his past is one name: Annabeth.
In this one we catch back up with Percy, who meets up with some new friends. I liked the tension created by Percy‘s lost memories.
Pretty sure I'll finish this by Friday. Glad my brother recommended these to me.
Anyone else have interesting reading positions? #reading #summerreading #library
I may have accidentally bought the last four books in this series today while I was out running errands...and two Lori Foster romances, one of which is the last in the series I‘m currently reading...and ordered the third and fourth books in Devon Monk‘s Allie Beckstrom series...and preordered the next Disney Princess Beginnings book for the kiddo.
I was out to pick up a prescription and look for a new pair of shoes...
I seriously love these books. I needed these as a kid! They're so fun and adventurous. It has a lot of good themes behind the writing and I never feel bored
Meh for most of the books. But that cliffhanger and it‘s hard not to love Percy.

I think I got this! Say hello to the Karpoi. They‘re grain spirits - children of the original Greek gods, Tartarus and Gaea. I know this thanks to Percy Jackson rather than that Ancient History paper I took in university 😂😂😂 Anyway they‘re one of PJs enemies. Great scene in this book where the heroes are sitting recovering in a field and the wheat grabs one of them and drags them away! (Art is from the graphic novel)
