The Queen of Nothing (The Folk of the Air #3)
The Queen of Nothing (The Folk of the Air #3) | Holly Black
The intoxicating and bloodthirsty finale to the New York Times bestselling The Cruel Prince, nominated for the CILIP CARNEGIE MEDAL 2019, and New York Times bestseller The Wicked King After being pronounced Queen of Faerie and then abruptly exiled by the Wicked King Cardan, Jude finds herself unmoored, the queen of nothing. She spends her time with Vivi and Oak, watching reality television, and doing odd jobs, including trying to convince a cannibalistic faerie from hunting her own in the mortal world. When her twin sister Taryn shows up asking a favour, Jude jumps at the chance to return to the Faerie world, even if it means facing Cardan, who she loves despite his betrayal. When a dark curse is unveiled, Jude must become the first mortal Queen of Faerie and break the curse, or risk upsetting the balance of the whole Faerie world.

If you love sharp-fanged Fairylands, twisted court politics, enemies-to-lovers, and a heroine as hard-nosed, badass, and morally gray as she is secretly loyal and true-hearted, you‘ll love the Folk of the Air series! I particularly relished how this trilogy reflects on and interweaves childhood trauma, romantic relationships, and power dynamics, all while being fun, surprising, and a little feral the whole time.

Third book in The Cruel Prince Series and my favorite. The pace and plot are the best of the three, although reading the others is necessary to understand the characters. Each is a short read.

Book 3 in the series and I enjoyed the direction the plot went. As I‘ve said before, these characters are not likeable but they are really gripping stories. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

To family and Faerieland and pizza and stories and new beginnings and scheming great schemes. I can toast to that.

All in all, the trilogy was quite satisfying. Things felt just a little bit rushed toward the end of this third book but I liked it, and I think that the series as a whole is structured such that everything makes sense.

This whole series is an amazing example that you can have a amazing fantasy, political book and also an enemies to lovers trope. It‘s absolutely amazing highly recommend this series. Holly Black is the queen of making you think you know whats going on then a huge plot twist happens, and you have no idea what the hell is going on anymore

Actually pretty shocked at how quickly I got through this book!
Great end to the trilogy. It was a tad predictable at times, but how mad can you be when you get what you want?

Third book of the “Folk of the air” series. 4⭐️ out of 5.
Strong beginning, thrilling throughout the book, dramatic towards the end. A worthy ending for the Trilogy and the book I liked best from the series.

This series was a rollercoaster of emotions and plot twists. This last book was a doozy and it might be my favorite out of the three of them. Black continuously added depth to the characters and plot which made it a fantastic read. I absolutely loved Jude, Cardan, and their character growths both for better and for worse. Also the intense plot was amazing, I loved it. I wish I could forget the series just to experience it for the first time again.

Anddd just like that I have less than 100 pages of the last of the trilogy! Time just kind of flew reading this series; it definitely gets better from the first book, which I liked but didn‘t love, and I think that‘s what kept me from reading this series sooner. I have no clue how everything is going to be wrapped up in so few pages, but I guess we will see!⚔️🐍

I think I‘m back in Young-Adult fever. In 2018, I read The Cruel Prince & loved it, and then somehow I never continued the series. Over the last weekend, I read all 3 books (I spent ~6 hours on trains) and throughly enjoyed them.

Sigh❤️❤️❤️ Loved this book even more the second time around. I still felt all the anxiety praying for a happy ending for Jude and Carden. I can‘t wait for the Stolen Heir to come out. Also, I really love how short each one of these books are. Like you don‘t need 800 pages to do a great fantasy story.

The folk of the air series is not my usual type of go-to book so I was a bit skeptical in the beginning.
This book was, just like the second one, very exciting.
Things were happening non-stop which doesn‘t allow the story to get boring, that was pretty cool.
LOVE LOVE LOVE Jude Duarte.

I read this beginning to end on a five hour car ride, and I had so many feelings that are too hard to express. Cardans character development had me literally crying, going from almost killing her to expressing his love for her in the ways every girl dreams of. I will truly miss this series.

Spent 3 days with my sister in law Jenna in the small town of Seldovia. Our friend Joe flew us in and we water taxied out. I read the entirety of Queen of Nothing and enjoyed the sun, waves, and a few Blueberry Mojitos (IYNYK) . I‘ll give more thoughts on the book soon. Worth the wait for the ending? Probs not but I still enjoyed it. #adventuring #ya #camping

Holy macaroni was this book good. I was worried that the last book of the series wouldn‘t live up to my expectations that the previous two books delivered, but man did this conclusion do that and more. My only complaint is that I wish Cardan‘s letters to Jude had been included and not only in special editions of the book. Overall, I enjoyed this series very much and it was better than I expected!

Stayed up half the night reading this and came down with a cold the next day 🤧🤧Was it worth it? Hmm. I definitely didn‘t want to stop reading, but Jude continues to be a bit clueless. She‘s badass with a sword though and Cardan has some nice development. A fun series. If you‘re looking for a Feyre/Rhys type of romance, you will be disappointed. The romance is very much a side plot. I still feel there could be more world building. But a pick!

I mean, after how the second book ended I had to find out what happens next even if it was 4 in the morning. Somehow over the last day I've absorbed this book. Some things were a little too neat at the end (and I have to believe Jude has been willfully blind about obvious things throughout) but overall I'm very happy to have lost the past couple days to this trilogy.

persephone1408 I also lost time with this series & I plan on losing more time rereading it very soon.😉 3y
