Onto another adventure with book 4 in the Sigma Force series and some mulberry tea made with leaves and berries from our mulberry tree in our back yard.

The last of my #VacationReads! This fast-paced addition to the Sigma Force series isn‘t my favorite but is still an entertaining and exciting read tying together a deadly illness and the mystery of one of Marco Polo‘s last adventures when he lost hundreds of men and four of his six ships. And the ending makes me glad I actually finished this at home, so I can immediately start the fifth book in the series!
Mixture of science and history of Marco Polo's trip to China. Virus threatening - it is a race for the cure between Guild and Sigma. Cambodia, Christmas Island, Istanbul with pirates, cannibals, crabs and squid. Interesting plot with lots of action. Science hard to follow but flowed easier with the audio. The final cliffhanger makes you want to read the next book soon. I would recommend this series to those who love science, history and adventure.
This is a big book in all senses. There is some excellent plotting in here and a wonderful story but did feel at points the author got bogged down in the science. I really enjoy The Sigma Force Series But I don‘t feel this is the best of them. Really pleased to have read, and completed it and some interesting twists and cliff hangers towards the end. Onto book 5!
#MapsOfLitsy Love it when a book has a map, makes it feel more of an adventure. Marco Polo definitely travelled!
This is the schedule for the Group Read of the Judas Strain in case anyone wants to read along with us. Happy for anyone to join us, all welcome. We can post any comments on Litsy at the end of each day or the following day.
Starting a Group Read of this book over on Librarything today. This is book 4 in the Sigma Force Series and James Rollins Books always have plenty of action.
Really enjoyed this one. Somehow I got ahead in the series with the last one, so this explained some of the head-scratching things in that one. Actually this was probably the most enjoyable of the Sigma Force set.
🦀Spectacularly researched in regards to real sciences & historical contexts.
🦀Fast-paced & absorbing.
🦀Its got pirates, cannibals, sea monsters, deadly viruses, & plenty of different locales.
🦀Wonderfully written.
🦀Avoids many tropes within the genre.
🦀Does an excellent job at maintaining suspense.
🦀4.25/5

I took a small break from my novels to tackle some manga & comics, which felt great. It helped me defeat an awful slump that was sneaking around the corner. Back to novels!

I'm half-way thru this. The story is fast-paced & all of the lore (which is inspired by Marco Polo's travels) is wonderfully woven into the plot! There's a lot of creativity here I'm enjoying. Can't wait to see what'll happen next!

Medical thriller. Dan Brown meets Clive Cussler meets Dr. House. It has 4+ stars on Goodreads, but I thought it was a little goofy. #startswithj #anditsaugust (This also fits #notmynormalgenre for #backtoreading if I want to jump ahead. 😜)
Looked up from reading to get my water bottle and found a bonafide Goddess staring at me. 🖤🖤 Shinobi is Goddess Queen, god bless.
Also, this book is very interesting. It's about a unique virus that has a physiological strain that turns benign, harmless bacteria into killer parasites. The science is all very, very good. 👍🏽

Some of the #bestcliffhangers are in the Outlander series but my mom has my books. So...back to my fave author James Rollins. In this book a central character disappears and it is not known whether he lived or died. Well it's now many books hence so I know now but for those new to the series I won't tell. #booklove17
Fast paced and I liked re historical tie in but a bit zombiesque
