I enjoyed these short stories and of course found many poignant quotations in each story💗💗 this one was probably my favourite, and it seemed fitting as I sat by some very raucous waves.
I keep wondering now how our outter landscape changes our inner landscape.
Hope my #LMPBC group likes it!

A 1992 collection of 12 stories, they are dated by when Márquez started writing them, even though he re-wrote all for the collection. Every date is from before he won the Nobel Prize in 1982. A polished writer, the stories have terrific openings are all well written, but only some are really memorable (on 1st read anyway). The opening story on the deposed Caribbean president in Switzerland stuck for some reason. (Art for sale by Nancy Tolford)

Just enjoying my lunch hour. This collection has got to be the easiest thing I‘ve read all year. Well written, I can slip right into each curious story and then its over.

Starting the next Márquez book, because I obviously need to start another book.

(Pardon the imprisoned cat in the background. He‘s sleeping in the dog crate )

Stacy_31 Ours enjoys sleeping in the dog crate, also. 🤷🏼‍♀️ 6y

Marquez is one of my favorite authors, but I haven't read him in a while. This short story collection reminds me why I enjoy his writing so much. His stories are imaginative and a little weird with a sprinkle of magical realism here and there. The collection also feels very cohesive without being repetitious.
