5 posts | 6 read | 3 to read
Hugo and World Fantasy Award-winning author G. Willow Wilson (Ms. Marvel, Wonder Woman) and Eisner winning artist Christian Ward (Black Bolt) team up for this epic new sci-fi saga! In a small solar system in a far-flung galaxy, two women--one a young religious acolyte and the other, a hard-bitten freighter pilot--uncover a conspiracy between the leaders of the most dominant religion and an all-consuming mega-corporation. On the run from reprisals on both sides, this unlikely pair must decide where their loyalties lie--and risk plunging the world into anarchy if they reveal the truth. One of AV Club's most anticipated comics of 2019! Collects Invisible Kingdom #1 - #5.

Okay; back to INVISIBLE KINGDOM. I expected to do far more #comicthon reading today, but chair acquisition and related activities (ie, cleaning) sucked up a bunch of time.

Mehso-so

Saw this on Hoopla and decided to try it (that's my favorite way to discover comics). The art is beautiful, and it is a great space drama. The characters are interesting, but they didn't feel fleshed out to me. The problem is interesting too, but seemed to come out of nowhere. I really like that gender doesn't seem important to define, and one race even has 4 known genders. I will read vol2 ! #lgbtq #lgbtcomic #lgbt #queercomic #scifi #lgbtscifi

This is a scifi graphic novel about a courier ship delivering interplanetary cargo.

There is a religious cult that shuns possessions & consumerism. In order to join this religious order a person must make their way to the order with no early possessions & blind folded.

The courier ship and members of the religious order cross paths

This was a fun scifi graphic novel. The artwork was great & the plot & pacing was well done. I thoroughly enjoyed

An exciting start to a fantastic new comic from G. Willow Wilson. A new initiate of a religious order and a captain making deliveries for an Amazon-like company get mixed up in a conspiracy that brings them together while also endangering their lives. Stunning, imaginative character and costume design-- and just great artwork generally--as well as an exciting storyline. Looking forward to seeing where this series goes!
