Ok. So someone said something on another place a few days ago and I've been obsessing and quasi fuming about it ever since. It wasn't directed at me but it just got me thinking about the pompous and elitist shit some readers say and I'm just done with it.

Birdsong28 👏👏👏👏👏 I just read what I want and how much I want. Just do what is right for you. 😘📚📖 6y

Sace @Birdsong28 well yes. I may have to start unfollowing people though 🤣 (not here.) I just hope some of these reading snobs aren't reading teachers. 6y

Kimberlone I remember last summer a couple of my friends came by my house and gave me some crap when they saw I was reading a romance novel. They know I‘m a big reader so I gave them some perspective on why I like to read lots of different genres and that reading Romance is really no different from enjoying watching a rom-com. Sometimes you just have to show people why their opinions are prejudiced. Luckily they are usually very open minded. 6y
TrishB Just read what you want! No need to explain either 👍🏻 6y
Sace @Kimberlone sometimes I wonder if all the social media has made everything feel...false? Like even reading has become more about "pinterest ready" pics and not showing our true reading colors, not to mention what I call viral reads....when the same book comes up again and again and again....confession - I don't think I care about the Booker prize. I'd rather see excitement over the Pura Belpre or Coretta Scott King. 6y
blank What you said about "pinterest ready": This is one of the reasons I didn't like "bookstagram." I don't think most of those people actually read any of the books they post pictures of. 6y
BookwormM I am not a book snob I am a book whore I will read anything and everything sometimes I hate classic reads sometimes I love pulp. Just be who you are and read what you want. 6y
Sace @LaurensLibrary right? I want to see pictures that look like someone is actually reading. Some of my fave Litsy posts are the ones taken from the couch, or on the porch or just....look genuine. 6y
Sace @BookwormM ? sometimes I see posts that look and feel like people are trying to be all "I read literachure...I wouldn't debase myself with *gasp* mass market paperbacks." Whatevs. I'm gonna read the literary equivalent of Velveeta. 6y
StillLookingForCarmenSanDiego That's one reason why I love Litsy. For the most part we all just support reading, no matter what it is, romance, comic books, whatever. As long as we're reading! 📖💖 6y
Sace @StillLookingForCarmenSanDiego exactly! I love Litsy. 6y
CouronneDhiver People are nuts. Be you... brilliantly. ☀️ 6y
Sace @CouronneDhiver lol and "me" can't be asked to read anything difficult ? 6y
CoverToCoverGirl I don‘t have time for “book snobs”... I read whatever catches my fancy.. as far as I can see here on Litsy, you do you wonderfully! 😊 Ignore the negativity, some people are just fecal agitators! 6y
Sace @CoverToCoverGirl "fecal agitators" ??? 6y

Love alll the options in the beginning of the story that tell young children that they can be anything when they grow up

Great poem to read to young children! Gives many options to young children on what they can be when they grow up but in poem rhythm form
