I am a nee dle of steel glass & cement 102 stories high on a clear day you can see 200 miles out into the Atlantic or watch hundreds of ants scurrying like people on the sidewalks below & the yellow bugs racing recklessly along the city streets & ride the elevator all the way down in 37 seconds FLAT

This is a great poetry books for kids. These poems have a visual component to them and can be fun for kids to look at. It‘s a good introduction into poetry and sometimes the poems are drawn on pictures to explain the meaning.

I think children would love this book because it has different aspects that many other books don‘t have. It will also keep children entertained because each page includes a different “story line”.

Genre: Poetry
I love the illustrations in this book and how to author places the text in an interesting and unpredictable way. You really have to look at the words in a different way to read the words.

Such a cute P read! Each poem is written where the words form the illustration about the topic of the poem! Children would love to look through the pages and see the neat imagery, but this is definitely a RA! The reading level is higher than the actual book itself, which is why it would be a good RA. #LAE3414sp19

melindamcmullen84 I would definitely want my students to recreate a “poem that takes shape” because I think they would love that! ESOL 32 (pairing for team learning) would be extremely important so they can be assisted if needed. UDL 2.1 & 2.5 (vocal & symbols and multi media illustrations) will be used when reading doing a RA or SR 6y
DrSpalding Your posts include somewhat thorough knowledge of the book. I like the way you have explained the English learner and universal design principles. 6y

Doodle Dandies is written by J. Patrick Lewis with images by Lisa Desimini. The lines of this poetry make up what the poem is about. I would definitely use this for my future classroom.

The poetry book doodle dandies by j Patrick Lewis was published in 1998. This is a poetry book with pictures and poems on each page. The author emphasized that poetry shouldn‘t be boring and adding pictures and fun poems to go along and in operate within the pictures makes it better to read and interact. These poems do not rhyme and have free verse which is good for students to understand that not all poems rhyme

1998, poetry. Different poems on each pages that look like pictures. The words are entwined in the images that relate to the poems. Words move with the images. Pictures are vibrant and abstract.
