I think this is a really cute book that students will enjoy.

A Sick Day for Amos McGee is a Caldecott winning book by Philip C. stead. This book is about a man who visits his animal friends at the zoo every day. When he becomes sick, they return the favor.

“Look for the train that will take you, the first train of the trip.”

I think children would be very interested in this book. I can think of a few students in my class who would love to read this book over and over. I love the pictures in it.

Locomotive by Brian Floca is a Caldecott award winning book. It is about America‘s early railroads.

“And together they did the unimaginable.”

I really like the pictures in this book. Children will enjoy the fun images and bright colors.

The Adventures of Belle: the Unimaginary Friend is a Caldecott award winning book by Dan Santat. This book is about an imaginary friend who goes through an emotional journey while looking for his human.

“In the house burns a light.”

I really like the black and white pictures with little bits of yellow in it.

The House in the Night is about things inside of a house. This is good for younger children and has simple text.

I really like the pictures in this book.

Wolf in the Snow is a Caldecott award winning book by Matthew Cordell. It is about a girl and a wolf lost in a snowstorm trying to find their way home.

I really like the pictures in this book and I think students will enjoy them.

Hello Lighthouse is a Caldecott award winning book but Sophie Blackall. This book is about the life of a lighthouse keeper.

“The worst part of holding the memories is not the pain. It‘s the loneliness of it. Memories need to be shared.”

The Giver is a modern fantasy book by Lois Lowry. It is about a young boy named Jonas who is given a job as the Receiver of Memory. He begins to understand the dark secrets behind his community.

Maximum Ride is one of my favorite series. I would recommend this to anyone. I think students will become really interested in the series.

Maximum Ride: The Angel Experiment is about six kids who have been experimented on their entire lives. They all have the ability to fly.

The Mortal Instruments series was one of my favorite growing up. I think students will really enjoy these stories.

City of Bones is about a young girl who discovers a secret life her mother hid for fifteen years. Her mother disappears and she suddenly finds herself in the world of Shadowhunters

“True love is usually the most inconvenient kind.”

The Selection is a very interesting series. I think students will become very interested in it.

The Selection is about a group of thirty-five girls who are entered into the selection to marry the prince. America does not want to be a part of this, but eventually she questions everything she thought she wanted.

I remember reading this book as a kid and loving it. I think students will become really interested in the series.

Th Uglies is about a sixteen year old girl who is about to have an operation to become one of the pretties. Once she is a pretty, her only job is to have fun. Her friend runs away and she is faced with the choice of finding her, or never becoming a pretty.

The Hunger Games is about the ruins of North America. A boy and girl from every district are forced to compete in the Hunger Games.

Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief is one of my favorite books. I think students will really enjoy reading this story.

Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief is a book about a twelve year old boy who finds out he is half Greek god.

“Knowledge is power, but it is a terrible power when it is hoarded and hidden.”

This book sounds very interesting to me. I think children will enjoy reading about a witch and girl who was given powers at birth.

The Girl Who Drank the Moon by Kelly Barnhill is a modern fantasy book about a child who was nourished with moonlight instead of starlight and develops extraordinary powers.

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban is one of my favorite books in the series. Students will enjoy this book.

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire is one of my favorite books in the series.

I really like how the author drew the pigs coming out of the story.
