1. I‘d like to get to Sardinia or Sicily or both to eat all of the local fare.
2. I would take low brain space investment beach reads so I could focus on relaxing. 🏝

Really fun, easy summer read. Amazing how much reading I get done when I don‘t have to teach 😜😎💁♀️
Two Truths: Sherri Griffin and her daughter Katie are new to a beach town in Massachusetts. YouTuber Alexa starts babysitting Katie, even though she is eleven.
One Lie: While SG really is Sherri Griffin‘s initials, Sherri Griffin is NOT her name.
Loved the Mom Squad who will definitely remind you of the characters in Big Little Lies. Overall this book was just a FUN listen and I really enjoyed learning about each of the people in this beach town
I‘ve been doing better at reading lately but dropping the ball on reviews. This was good for what it was, a story of people bringing all their baggage and secrets to Block Island for the summer. I enjoyed getting to know the island which is a character itself and seeing how everyone reacted when the secrets bubbled to the surface. Points off for a sudden storm as a lazy way to drive the story to its climax, but a good summer read nonetheless.
Trying to read a summery book during the summer, like people do. I‘ve always been more of a “read a deep, dark gigantic tome” kind of summer reader, but there‘s a first time for everything, right? 🤔
A character driven novel about three people on Block Island one summer, this is a satisfying and enjoyable summer read for sure. Full review at https://booknaround.blogspot.com/2019/06/review-islanders-by-meg-mitchell-moore....
Here's your Labor Day weekend last days of summer beach read. Told in rotating POVs from three people on Block Island, RI (background pic is one I took on the island in winter several years ago.) I didn't feel like the author needed to keep us readers in suspense about one character's secret as it really isn't a thriller or anything, but I liked the peek into life on this isolated island.
You will see the interaction of daily life Block Island residents with island summer visitors. Three different families will be involved during a summer season revealing some family secrets. What I liked is that there is representation of different generations and you will get interested in each one of them. It is a slow pace family drama with a sad twisted secret at the end for one of the families. I enjoyed it. 3.7⭐️
I‘m not on an island, but I am reading on the front porch in my pajamas in the rain, and that makes me pretty darn happy.
I was quickly addicted to this story. It‘s a lovely summer read full of compelling characters. It also helped that it was set on Block Island, which I visited a few times while growing up in Connecticut.
Great Summer read. This one has it all. Unexpected romance, well-meaning lies and damaging secrets.

I‘m so excited to say that I loved this even more than I anticipated. Three random people on Block Island, RI end up making connections in unexpected ways. At the same time, there are BIG secrets being kept and much is at stake if the truth comes out. I LOVE this as a summer read.
I was ALL IN early in the reading. I saw myself in each of these characters at least a little bit. If you like Elin Hilderbrand: this reminded me fondly of her style!
This book was a great summer read for me, hitting on all of my love languages-books set on charming islands with a foodie & writer focus. Three people meet in the summer on Block Island, RI; whoopie pie cafe owner Joy, disgraced author Anthony & secret food blogger Lu. I enjoyed all the characters & their stories & paired my review with Lu's Essence-of-Summer Fruit Crisp with strawberries, peaches & blueberries. Link to book tour review/recipe👇🏻

The last time we used this musical prompt I picked tropical Kauai as #laislabonita or my beautiful island, but since I'm doing a book tour review on this one tomorrow, I thought I'd choose its setting of Block Island. A real-life community just south of mainland Rhode Island, it looks & sounds like a perfect spot to spend a summer. ☀️⛵️🛥
A hot & humid weekend so I made a chilled soup & salad combo for today's lunch & #soupersundays blog post. I combined Giada's Orange-Scented Chilled Tomato Soup with Ina's Tomato Sandwich with Basil Mayo. It was a tasty pairing. 🍊🍲🍅🍞🌱Paired with one of my current reads for a book tour review later in the week. I'm about 1/3 into it & enjoying it so far. Lots of 😋food including a whoopie pie cafe & a secret food blogger.

Drove the long trip home and am now back on my usual couch with the sweet Miss Gatsby who is a little annoyed I left her for a couple of days. #schnauzersoflitsy
