pickTerry Ives deserved so much more. This book was extra emotional knowing how hard she fought but ultimately lost in the end. I‘m a little confused why they didn‘t get into how she went insane. I understand losing a child could do that. But I would‘ve liked to see that piece of the story too. This does make El killing Brenner even more satisfying. There is no doubt after this piece of the story that he was a monster.
pickPlaying catch up on posts now as I get my points calculated. This was interesting, learning more about Eleven's parents and where they came from and how they're connected to Brenner.

so-soFor fans of Stranger Things obsessing over ever detail they can get, I recommend this book. The back story of Terry Ives gives you a glimpse into how Elevens powers came to be, while rationalizing Eight's presences in that one episode everyone hated. However, there are still some inconsistencies in the story line with the other children in the study, and I wished more was included about Terry's attempts to save her daughter.
so-soI enjoyed getting the chance to see some of the backstory of Eleven's mom. I did struggle to get into it at first, but it started to pick up.

Day 2 of #AnyWayYouReadathon and Day 1 of #JoysofJune Readathon went okay. I finished book 1 of Stranger Minds, and it was good- all about Eleven's mom and experiments on college kids, and poor Eight. So once done, I started with Hopper's story, which is mostly set in NYC in 1977 while he hunts a serial killer and his daughter is still alive and he's happily married. Made progress with Murder in Plain English. @kimmypete1 @Eggbeater @Andrew65

I was skeptical, but this book is great! I like that you get to see into Dr. Brenner‘s mind just a little bit.

pickThis prequel novel definitely satisfied my cravings for season three of the show. This was a fun read detailing El‘s mother‘s experience with Brenner. Not the most eloquent writing but a read that kept me interested nonetheless! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
When I saw this as I was perusing the new releases at the library I couldn't help but pick it up. Hoping this "prequel" to the show doesn't disappoint or tarnish some of its shine.
