Mallory Graham is returning home to the heat and vines of Southern California in search of the peace she cant find in the city. Her parents vineyard is an escape for tourists, but full of mixed memories for Mallory. It may also be the one place she can find the forgiveness she seeks. But can things ever go back to the way they once werein the days before that long, hot, heartbreaking summer? Growing up, it was Mallory and Kelly. Kelly and Mallory. Nothing could come between them. That summer before college, bucket list in hand, they greeted every sunrise and chased every sunset. Tattooscheck. Sleeping under the starscheck. But when Mallory met Sam, everything changed. Older, experienced and everything Mallory never knew she wanted, Sam was her first taste of loveand the one adventure Mallory didnt want to share with Kelly. But Kelly had her own secrets, too, until the night tragedy struck and their perfect summerand their friendshipunraveled. Now, after ten years away, Mallory is home and determined to make amends. No more secrets, no more half-truths. As Kelly slowly lets her guard down, Mallory convinces her to complete their unfinished list of hopes and dreams. But Mallorys not the only one back in town, and when Sam reappears, Mallory risks making all the same mistakesand maybe a few new onesto try to heal that which was broken.

Super predictable with shallow characters and an odd style but an easy read set in a truly beautiful part of the world! Read over dinner in honour of @MrBook #tatertots #litsypartyofone

MrBook Aww, well not every one can be a winner 😕. 5y

Starting this . Has anyone read it? Thoughts?

I could have accepted this as what it is — a light romance read — if it wasn‘t for a couple of deus ex machina (one of which was implausible) that ended with an empty feeling overall.

Not my usual fare (it‘s one I won), but a palate cleanser on another hot day 🌞 .

Originally I had planned on reading this on my way to wine country in California a few weeks ago- but I ended up reading another book instead! And this one takes place in a winery in Southern California anyways- so it was my plane read for a short trip to Michigan! But a predictable plot, shallow characters and eye-rolling reactions and comments made me wish I had brought along a different book! I did finish it, but never connected with it!

jenreads7 What a shame! The cover‘s so pretty! 6y
TorieStorieS @jenniferajanes I know!!! I was disappointed for sure!! 6y

Pickpick

This isn‘t my usual type of book but I liked it a lot. Yeah it got kinda cheesy at times and was a tad predictable but I really related to the main character and some of her struggles with dudes and finding herself and figuring out what really motivates our choices. #ARC #catsoflitsy
